Marvel Team-Up #2 May 1972
"And Spidey Makes Four!"
Spider-Man and the Human Torch (from the Fantastic Four) battle
the Sandman, the Trapster, the Wizard, and Annihilus.
Script by Gerry Conway, pencils by Ross Andru, inks by Jim Mooney.
Claremont's MTU run is pretty underrated. I'd agree start there with MTU as the essentials version (B&W) or Masterworks (color) or Epic Collection, whenever that gets released.
In more recent comics, maybe look for the new Spectacular Spider-Man that is coming out. Sounds like there will be some teaming in that series.
Every day is a gift, not a given right.

Here's a good TPB:

And a GREAT single issue:

There is also the Spider-Man Team Up book from the 90s. It was a quarterly book with 7 issues, each self contained.
The only collections that I know they are in are the Complete Clone Saga and Complete Ben Reilly series. While they did occur during the Clone saga, they do not tie in that much other than Ben Reilly being Spider-Man is some of the issue.
My favorite team-up is the two part crossover with the Thing’s team-up title. They was a fun moment.
Marvel Team-Up #5 Nov 1972
Spider-Man and the Vision star in "A Passion of the Mind!"
Spider-Man and the Vision battle the Puppet Master in the Baxter Building.
Note: The Puppet Master previously appeared in Fantastic Four 100.
Script by Gerry Conway. Pencils by Gil Kane. Inks by Mike Esposito.
MTU 63-64, Spidey with Iron Fist/Daughters of the Dragon
Anyone who likes that should check out Claremont/ Byrne's entire Iron Fist run (it ties up loose ends from there.)
It feels weird how long it took me to realize that the creative team behind my favorite comic book run (the Claremont/ Byrne Uncanny X-Men) also had a decent Spider-Man run.
Sincerely,
Thomas Mets
