Worst character costumes/designs ever

Superman regularly tangles with enemies and technology in his own weight class and above, the more protection he has the less hurt he'll be when they inflict damage on him. I agree it really does not look like armor how it's drawn.

I think it depends how do you see it...

I have seen it more as something like a Kevlar Suit...
Because otherwise it would reduce the movement to much or?

Was Superboy in Superboy #15 wearing the same Armour?
Because as he was wearing it, it looked more like an Armour..

Whats wrong with it? I think its one of the best costumes and quite iconic.

Is that Aquaman costume supposed to be bad? I always thought it was pretty good.

That doesn't read as armor.
Why would superman need armor for his regular suit?

Normally, he doesn't. But it has to be remembered that in New 52 continuity his finding the suit was happenstance, he didn't make it himself or have his mother make it for him. So its not like he purposefully designed a suit of armor. Its just something he happened to find on Brainiac's ship; "Kryptonian ceremonial armor" I believe Morrison described it as. Plotwise, at the time it does help him because he's at GA power levels so the extra protection has an effect. But as his power grows, the armor aspect becomes null, and he continues to wears it not for that, but because its a keepsake of his home world.

It actually was stated to be armor. The New 52 was weird.

For what it's worth, the imagery of Dehydrated Bodybuilder has become shorthand for strong in popular media when, frankly, Alex Ross draws a Superman that looks like he could bench press a train.

I prefer the alex rosses design as well.

But, supes in tshirt and jeans needs to be a bit more toned.

Poor Genny, they were going for an "extreme!" look harkening back to the era of comics intentionally (ala AzBats)...but instead of being ironic, it was just BAD.

I thought Kyle looked better in the classic GL suit he was in a brief moment than he ever did in his main one.
