I was wondering why I didn't see his review for Crimson Lotus #4 up there.

Yeah, that’s a huge bummer. I understand his reasoning, but hope he’s willing to write the occasional piece. A most observant guy he is

For those like me who were clueless about all this, here's a link I found to a tweet from yesterday:

I know I don't post here often, so take this for what it's worth...

Not being on social media outside of instagram, I'm blissfully unaware of day to day "controversy". But I will say this: in regards to Mark's integrity, writing and knowledge of the Hellboy Universe, he's my goddamn hero.

Caught up on some of what went down. Not sure what Mark said, or where, but this is a big bummer.

I’m also surprised this hasn’t been mentioned by any comic sites, like Bleeding Cool.

It wasn't what I said, but what I retweeted (and have since unretweeted). Mignolaversity is essentially a promotional column, and I don't feel I can participate unless I 100% know what I'm promoting. I've put myself in that position before and it seriously depressed me, and I wasn't willing to do it again. I'm still a fan and still a reader though, I'm just not part of the marketing machine anymore. I may do some more eventually, but for now, I'm taking a break.

Taking a break can be a good thing.

Hopefully all will work out for you in time.

But thanks for everything you've been able to do for clueless schmucks like me.

man what a bummer, never been one to idolize creative figures because there's just so many examples of why that will let you down but it still hurts to see what a mess this has turned into.

is someone else going to be writing Mignolaversity or is it completely dead?

Yeah, as a huge fan of both writers this is sad to see.

And I'll miss Middenway's Mignolaversity stuff too - his work is an incredible resource for new and old readers alike.

It's an ongoing column. Someone else will probably pick it up at some point.
