Even if you take the 100K out, 200K for Rocket is absolutely stunning to me.

who would ever think this character would ever receive this much fan fare.
Thank you Marvel marketing department.
...which just goes to show...there are quite a lot of really stupid people out there who will fall for anything.

It's a Skottie Young book. How bad could it be? A Skottie Young book getting sales that high tastes a little better than *insert event book here* achieving 200,000 sales.
I think it's a good sign that a C to D-list character, with the right marketing, can achieve good sales in this market. All the complaining just kind of sounds like sour grapes over it not being YOUR favourite C or D-list character getting the same push or achieving the same success.
Not at all K's_G.
I would be just as apathetic if it was MY favourite C or D-lister, trust me. I've stopped falling for Marvel's (and DC's, for that matter) marketing ploys.

I've been trying to find out ever since Scottie Young got placed on this book, is Marvel done/cancelling the Oz books? There are still more stories to adapt and was wondering if they're cancelling them or putting them on hiatus for now so Young can do something else for a time (like Rocket Raccoon).
Not sure I understand you then, as it seems that you're correlating marketing with lack of quality. When you've got a quality talent like Skottie Young helming the book, that seems sort of groundless and overly cynical.
If the book were written by Daniel Way and drawn by random European dude and posted these numbers, that reaction would make more sense.
Nice to see someone outside the A-list characters get a shine. While admittedly not a fan of the character I'm glad it gives rise to more C and D list characters for a shot at a mini series.

wow good for Skottie!
BTW RR is a Bill Mantlo and Keith Giffen creation!
Even if you take out Loot Crate, there's no way that number is totally legitimate, it's not as if retailers would suddenly up and decide to order 200k copies of this book because they believed they could sell that many. I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel was just giving away copies for free in order to generate buzz from the big order number.
300K copies just means it's gonna be easy to find that issue in the dollar bin in a few months.
