The series is at last here, bringing with it all kinds of deconstructionist and literary critiques on the modern day! (And some pretty cool storytelling and art, as well!)
Did anyone get a chance to read it? The comic is firmly set in the present-day strata of American society. The story so far, follows a fading actress given the role of her career, a wrongfully convicted man returned from Guantanamo Bay, a young African-American boy who survives a riot and is swept up into a new revolutionary movement and an MIT professor with writer's block and the changes of the digital age. I really enjoyed it, but most of all, the little annotations at the bottom of the pages. These are things I recall from Matt Fraction's Defenders, although Kot uses these with a little more integrity and seriousness, which perfectly matches the tone.
Here are some quotes from reviews of #1, giving it high praise.
