I honestly feel sorry for everyone else presenting games at E3 this year. Out hyping FFVIIR is an impossible task.
They took down 3 of gaming's biggest white whales. I don't think there is anything beyond announcing Half Life 3 or someone reviving Silent Hills that can top Sony's conference.
Are people really that hyped for FF7? What, everyone suddenly likes remakes? Is it being completely redone or is it just modern graphics slapped over 20 year old gameplay?
Yes, yes people really are. FFVII means a lot to a lot of people. Myself included. Fun fact, if anyone has ever seen an image I've posted here, they might have noticed my Photobucket account is named after FFVII.
A lot of people have been asking for, anticipating, and sometimes dreading this remake for years and years. It really is every bit as big as people are saying it is, and this might be the second console FFVII has sold to me.
Plus, remakes are less frowned upon it seems than reboots, remasterings, or just ports. Lots of JRPGs have been remade to much acclaim. Including several Final Fantasy. FFIIIDS and both FFIV remakes were pretty nifty.
My only regret is that the trailer at first made it sound like they were pitching a sequel, talking about everything in the past tense like they were. And I DEFINITELY would have been sold on a new console for FFVII-2.
Where are you hearing this? I can't find any actual details about it. I know graphically, it's going to be redone but I'm talking about the mechanics.
Really, this kinda seems like a waste. Why not just do an actual sequel?
Looking around various sites, I do find it funny that the same fanbase that will complain that Madden, CoD, and Halo are the same games with better graphics is the same fanbase losing their minds over the prospect of literally playing an old game with better graphics. I liked FF7 too, but I need more than a trailer of a remake to get hyped.
Is it ok to be bitter that Square has remade every classic FF except VI? Its the only one I'd really be interested in seeing.
Life is but a dream
