    Wish he had concocted a diabolical scheme with which he would have thwarted the release of the 2015 Fantastic Four movie.

    Any truth to these rumors? I bet Disney wouldn't be too thrilled,if true.

    All I can say to mister Thorpe is ;
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I LOVE IT!!!
    Except that we have a different version of events from Alan Moore. He said he picked the number, and that it was just a deliberately high random number, because DC always made their worlds Earth 1 or 2, suggesting they were more important than the other realities they encountered. He wanted to show that Marvel's universe wasn't special, but just one of many universes.

    So, who recalls it correctly? Moore has no love lost for Marvel these days, so no reason to lie if 616 is meant to be an insult towards them - in fact, you'd think he'd want to draw attention to that detail. The term 616 was not used during Thorpe's run on Captain Britain. He did identify another reality, but he used an alphanumeric designator, not just a number. The first time 616 or any other numerical designations were used was over a year into Alan Moore's run on the title, well after Thorpe's departure.
