Still not as "entertaining" as that time they turned him into a Black Man.
I loved Remender's run.
It DID make sense within the context of the story, I guess. Plus the fight with Daken, pre-transformation, was pretty brutal by 616 standards. The rematch was even better. I liked it for what it was, and it enabled Remender to put all the toys back in the box, AND find a way to de-age Castle. This until Rucka discreetly slid his timeline forward to what I imagine is either of the Gulf Wars.
Ha, at the time I kinda fanboy rage quit. As a big Punisher fan I thought it was too ridiculous. Fast-forward a couple of years and I ended up buying Remender's Punisher omnibus and forced myself to read it. It was a pretty great story to be fair.

Batman and Spider-Man are huge because their fans will buy anything. Punisher fans typically seem to disown 75% of everything
