Mark Hughes writes for Forbes and he's in the know (well atleast more so than most of us fans) and he was kind enough to reply, this is what I asked and these were his answers:

Me: Mark just one question if I may, as a die hard superman fan I am quite anxious about superman being ‘lost in the shuffle’ so to speak, especially with the inclusion of batman, wonderwoman, cyborg and god knows who else in the coming movie. So my question is this, as a superman fan should I worry? Or do you think that WB are still keen to bring the character back to his former glory?

Mark: I don’t think fans need to worry. As my article notes, Harry Potter had a large cast of important characters around Harry, but was he pushed aside and lost in the shuffle? WB are trying to build a unified DCU on film, and Superman was the foundation for that. The “faux-realism” approach they’re taking actually necessarily raises the point that once Superman shows up and has a huge battle in a city, the other heroes would come out of the woodwork and react. Batman would obviously not ignore it, Wonder Woman would see Superman as a godlike being akin to herself and likewise respond, etc. So it makes sense that in the immediate aftermath of revealing himself to the world where other superheroes exist, Superman would for a while interact with several other heroes. That’s what this next film is about.


Me: So you think this is going to be superman’s movie for the most part?

Mark: I’m very sure Superman is the main character, Batman is a guest star, Wonder Woman has a small role to introduce her, and Victor Stone (aka Cyborg) is a very small role.


Now I don't know how much DP Clark or Lois&Clark we're gonna get in the next movie but remember WB are fully intending to make more solo superman and batman films after JL so all isn't lost.
