Hey everyone! I'm certain a thread like this already exists, but I didn't see anything too similar in recent searches, so I thought I'd create this thread. As a long time DC reader, I've recently gotten into Marvel titles (primarily with Avengers VS X-Men acting as a gateway). With that said, I was wondering how people would rank the events of the last decade or so? I do not have too much experience with Marvel events, but I have read a few in the last while. So far, I would rank them as follows:
1. Avengers VS X-Men (I have to reread this, as it seems to be received poorly around here. Perhaps its the nostalgia factor and how it introduced me to Marvel, but I remember really enjoying it. Especially the tie-ins about K'un-Lun).
2. Civil War (This seems to be pretty divisive, but I enjoyed it. I didn't read too many tie-ins aside from ASM)
3. Siege (Once again, I didn't read too many tie-ins, but I thought it was self contained, albeit slightly too short).
4. World War Hulk (Enjoyable, but not incredibly memorable to me).
I am very excited to dig into Fear Itself, as I find the concept incredibly interesting, but I'm hesitant because the general consensus seems to be that the event is mediocre. Is that true? Are there people that love this event?
As for other events, I'm excited to read House of M, Infinity, and continue to read the current Secret Wars title. Axis and Original Sin seem to also be poorly reviewed, so you'll have to let me know if they're worth a read.
I can't wait to hear your opinions! And if you think any tie ins are necessary for any of these events, please let me know! I want to get the most out of these stories, and I feel Civil War, Siege and Fear Itself would have good tie ins, but I'm not sure what they would be.
