At least they modelled her after the other air force legend that is the Iceman. I'm sure Maverick will be shaking in his helmet when she goes flying by.

    Everyone knows this..

I think she looks better with long hair, but that's personal preference. I'm not against female characters with short hair, and Carol looks fine with it short, but I think whether they look better with it longer or shorter depends on the character.

    Yeesh.
Tons of dudes have had long locks before and people don't cry "GIRLY!!!"
Where has anyone in this thread said that? They've just said they don't like the hair cut.

Simple possible explanation: held on with velcro or snaps. they can grab it all they like, but can't pull her down with it.

anyway. I haven't read the whole thread, but I like the look, overall. The thing I am a disappointed with about it is not the hair, it's the change to the gloves. I loved those buttons she had on the sides of her arms. and on the hair situation... why does the cut have to be explained with some sort of practical reason? Maybe she just.... wanted to cut her hair?

On the creative team... not bad, I enjoyed Agent Carter. but TV creators don't always make the jump to comics all that smoothly, so we shall see.

I'm disappointed about losing the buttons on the boots!

(For entirely selfish reasons, of course. I found the EXACT boots from the McKelvie version of this costume in a random little shoe store in my neighborhood...)

    That's definitely a thing.

I must have missed the post where she was called ugly or an abomination but are you saying the combination of the hair, costume and body type on that design sheet doesn't look even a bit masculine? or that at first glance you could never mistake her for a man?

That's fine if that's what they were going for (after all, we wouldn't want some fine comic specialist calling Carol a porn star, would we?) but not everyone has to like it.

I think she looks better on the cover preview, though.
Let me make this quick and clear, NO!! She DOESN'T look like a man, nor did I mistake her for one. Guess what, some women have short hair and muscles, it's not that uncomman. I've known a few myself, shocking I know.

    Oh really?

Wow, the lady looks like a dude.
That could've been a younger Steve Rogers if they hadn't told us otherwise.

    Not digging the short hair.
Sure, I buy the reason for it, but to take your premier female hero and make her look like a flat chested, short haired dude kinda defeats the point, no?

And those are just a few examples, try again.

Too bad about S.W.O.R.D. going away. Would have been great to see Carol and Brand sparring all the time.

Will marvel comics FINALLY elevate there hero gallery with Carl Danvers, living in a space station, of the all-new mainstream marvel earth ?
The very first marvel comics transman superhero?
They can make it up to me since it was revealed that 616 Jane Foster is 616 Thordis and not transwoman 616 Donna Blake being 616 Thor

I'm pretty sure it was stated that every time Carol tries to cut her hair, it grows back very rapidly because of her Kree genes.

Has it been confirmed that Brand is going away? We could still see this, if not.....

My litmus test for costumes has always been that if you can't poop, then it's not practical. So that disqualifies just about everybody.
