But of course.
I can't believe I didn't think of it myself (said everybody).
Whenever I consider a manga cover, I back down.
Thw wolf looks like a Frank Miller drawn Wolverine. I read somewhere that Frank loved the book, but to pretty much emulate the art...

Looks like I'll have to move past gameplay footage
Miller was heavily influenced by lots of Manga. That much was obvious from the start. **shrugs** Nothing wrong with that. Not everyone needs to worship at the feet of Jack Kirby.
EDIT: And to me, that doesn't look like Wolverine, it looks like Toshiro Mifune.

Miller did the covers for the American editions from First and wrote introductions to the volumes, so that image is a Miller piece and yes, he was fond enough of the series to lend his name/presence to the book when it was put out by First at the peak of his popularity stemming from his Daredevil and Batman work. I remember at my lcs at the time, a lot of folks were buying/giving Lone Wolf a look because of Miller's cover and name associated with the project-I skipped it at the time because it came out just month before I was graduating and I was cutting way back on what I bought in prep for leaving for college, which in hindsight was a dumb decision on my part, as it is great stuff.
