I might post my prospective team build just for funzies. Was maybe thinking about changing my mind over not playing but I see I have missed the draft so no matter.

It is like... 60% - 70% shenanigans and I think you guys would get a kick out of it.

Really? I though you won the first two.

    Alright then, never mind.

I won the second division of league 3 and tied/won (cannot recall) against KJS, who had won the first division.

Oddly enough, I am not sure what I have won since. I don't really keep track of that. Fun is in the journey, not the destination.

Also, a most amazingly bullshit thing that I considered for league 3 is still technically possible nowadays. Cool days.

If you had said something a few days ago I'd probably have let you in. But if you want to just make a team for fun, go ahead.

Yeah, the team has been pretty much finalised, with 20 points to spare, for a few months now.

So, for your entertainment and edification I present:

    TEAM HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPOS

So, first a word about team composition. As always with the League, I approach making a team with a less a plan for winning concretely and more about what I think will be fun. The theme this time was devouring powers, copying powers and thieving abilities from others and I thought of some pretty unique concepts and ideas of how to approach this theme. Originally known as Team Copy Pasta, Team Hungry Hungry Hippos primarily uses the powers of the teams it fights to gain an advantage, everyone they see, touch, kill or devour, becomes fuel for them.

The team was never fully completed as I had 24 odd points knocking about but this is the core structure built around an 102/126 points spend but this certainly complete enough to see where my mind was going. I'm also not totally sure that this build would have been street legal but, let's meet the squad!

    TAEK JAE KAL (8)

So I love God of Highschool and, as you will recall from Siriel and me's last team, there are some incredibly strong characters in there. Jae Kal has a ton of abilities native to him already, including superspeed brick stats, mad kung fu skills, monster summoning, shadow control, telekinesis, making clones of himself and a bunch of other things but his most interesting ability is that he can consume others to gain their powers. Thus my strategy with his build was simple; feed multiple specialist characters to Jae Kal to give him extra powers and make him really scary. Plus, consume all fallen enemies to enhance power as you go in match.

Thus I list other characters as items in this because they would be "items" to him.

    CONSUMED TEAM MEMBERS/ITEMS
    - Cascade (6)
    - Sieg Hart (7)
    - Tatsumaki (8)
    - Tyki Mikk (7)
    - Dark Bring 61 (5)

This loadout would give Jae Kal interdimensional teleportation, a ton of different magic types, massive psychic powers and the ability to control intangibility in both himself and other things. Plus, with Dark Bring 61, he would have infinite magical energy to draw from so he wouldn't run into any problems of overextending himself by using tons of abilities at once.

    KUROUDU AKABANE (8)

Akabane is a massively superspeed brick, immortal, regenerating swordsman. He also has the neat trick that anything that mixes with his blood allows him to take it on its qualities and add it to his bag of tricks. He has used it to create weapons forged of diamond, given him control over darkness as a counter to fighting someone who could control light, copy the reflective qualities of the shards of mirror to make him able to make clones of himself.

On top of this insane array of powers, I give him a piece of kryptonite and a piece of adamantium so he now has unbreakable weapons that give of kryptonite radiation. Plus have Sieg Hart stab him before he is consumed by Jae Kal so Akabane gains his magic sword abilities which allow him to cut magic, cancel spells and instantly drain wizards of their magical power on contact. In short, physical monster, anti-kryptonian, anti magic guy. Plus, anything that hurts him in the match that doesn't outright kill him, will mix with his blood to enhance his powers further.

    ITEMS
    - Kryptonite Ring (2)
    - Adamantium Knife (2)
    - Sieg Hart's magic sword (Free)

    KUROKAMI MEDAKA (8)

So Medaka is arguably the most ridiculous thing I came up with. Medaka, physical beast that she is, only possess one real power - The End - an ability which means that, upon experiencing it or seeing it, Medaka can learn and perfectly replicate to the highest level any technique, skill or power. This is already very potent.

On top of that, equip her with gem of Cytorrak or give her Ionic energy treatment to make her the main physical beast of the team and equip the Ryuugan. The Ryuugan grants the user a loose form of omniscience. This would give Medaka perfect knowledge of the enemy team's movement and actions even before they happen and it means she will be almost impossible to hit because the combat precog of the Ryuugan is just nuts. But, the scariest thing would be that this would mean that in the first second of every match, Medaka would be able to acquire any and all viable techniques from the enemy team into herself and master it to a higher degree than they have.

Truly one of my more diabolical combos there.

    ITEMS
    - Crimson Gem of Cytorrak/Dr Kenneth Sturdy's Ionic Energy Treatment (10)
    - Ryuugan (5)

    SOUCHIROU NAGI (4)

So, I'll be real, I was shocked when I saw Nagi was only a 4 - because he's like a 7 at least - but I opted to just let that one slide in case I need the wiggle room on my build. Nagi is a fantastic martial artist with superspeed and strength and he's also a nexus of demonic spirits that grant him a huge number of abilities like lightning control, teleportation, healing, raising the dead, mind control and a bunch of other stuff. Also, as a demon exorcist, any skill or energy technique that Nagi touches, he can devour and take from the enemy and give it to himself. So, anyone who comes close to him who has magic or chi is getting that stuff ripped out of them.

Since he's such a versatile character, I just gave him buffs that would maximise his abilities because he's already scary as hell.

    ITEMS/CONSUMED POWERS
    - Power of the Sinister Council (10)

    MATTER-EATER LAD (6)

While not quite thematically on point and admittedly mostly on the team to covering me in terms of legality, Matter-Eater Lad would have gotten something but I hadn't yet decided what to give him.

So yeah that's team Hungry Hungry Hippos. A bunch of fun combos and annoying shenanigans but with some big weaknesses that could be exploited if my strategy was lacking. Bless the days that you do not fight this!

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Wundarr's field affect him as well? I never picked him because I thought at 8 he'd null anything you tried to do with him and the team around him.

The energy restrictions affect him and everyone within a five foot radius of his person, yes.

This is a feature, not a bug.

For clarification, the other character I picked at the same time is the explanation for that one.

Oh, did he have the range to completely destroy the opposing team from the bell with no defense available? On the other hand if it had no feats for breaching any significant form of magical barrier or working against non-living foes I'm not screwed if it does have the range.

Grograman passively annihilates all life in a radius of thousands of miles, regardless of his feelings about this matter.

It was trumped in-setting by the Auryn (a fact that is not very useful considering the vagueness of the Auryn's power level, beyond it being the supreme power of Fantastica) and non living things seem to fall outside this effect.

If that was mentioned I don't know how I missed replying, as that is pretty much another 'Annihilate 99% of characters at the bell' like that Telepathic Power Nullifier.

Still, I feel improbably confident in my team countering it.
