    Default "Metal Men" Appreciation!!!!!

    DC Forum Appreciation Thread rules:

    1) No negative comments about the honoree of this thread. It's an appreciation thread, not a non-appreciation one.

    2) No negative discussion about any competitors of the honoree of this thread (i.e. John Stewart in the Hal Jordan thread). No ifs, ands, or buts. Find another non-appreciation thread to do that, just not here.

    3) No negative comments about other versions of the character. For example, if you like the DCU version of Cyborg, but hate the DCnU version (or visa versa), just appreciate the earlier version and keep your comments about the latter to yourself.

    Plus,

Warner Bros. has several other movies in development unconnected to the Justice League that are based on DC superheroes and fantasy and crime titles from its Vertigo line of genre comics, said Mr. Silverman and Toby Emmerich, president of Warner’s New Line Cinema label. They include “Shazam,” “Metal Men,” “100 Bullets,” and “Fables.”

The first time I encountered the Metal Men was when Gold guest starred in World's Finest.

A Bob Haney/ Curt Swan masterpiece that just has to be read to be believed.

I got a few issues of the Metal Men comic in the 1970s and I've been a fan ever since.

    Absolutely love the Metal Men.

I'm glad DC's still pushing them. Hopefully DC has more plans for them in the nu52, whether they show up in John's Justice League or they get their own book I imagine DC will want to keep them in the spotlight somewhere. Maybe as supporting cast in a Cyborg solo? Thinking about it, I kinda want the Keith Giffen/Dan Didio duo to tackle them.

Also, Doc Magnus needs to start wearing his tweed jacket and start smoking a pipe, dang it!

I enjoyed the outrageous DC Nation take on them.

Somewhat Professor Utonium & the Powerpuff girls, although Magnus and the whole I created you in my lab shenanigans came first, it makes sense they'd play out similar.

I love The Metal Men, and I was even collecting comics at the time (1976) but I don't remember this at all. (I wasn't a Superman fan until years later.)

Bob Haney: The Mark of Quality. You see his name and you know you're going to read something insane.
