The blues continue to be a team that makes the playoffs but can't win the Stanley Cup. It-s like they're the atlanta braves without a title.

I was pretty surprised they traded off Oshie. Im no Blues expert but I thought they were building around he and Tarasenko?

I gotta say, I did not see that T.J. Oshie going to Washington Capitals coming. With Oshie and Justin Williams, the Capitals have got one of the most dangerous offense in the Eastern conference. If Holtby plays like he did last year and the Washington defence does as well, they could go to the conference finals.

I honestly don't know which team will be the strongest in the East this year. I wanted Montreal to put together a better team than last year, because it was clear the offense was not strong. They didn't do much in the off-season and I keep hoping they don't waste Carey Price's efforts year after year. The guy is a legitimate MVP for the organization.

It's awesome to have the NHL back and a lot has already happened.

3-on-3 is a thing and it's working out pretty well. I actually miss the shootout, but I can see that not too many people were a fan of it.

It's too early to tell who is going to be a dominating team this year, but so far, I can't see one of them being the LA Kings. I am not sure what is happening with this organization, but they can't seem to win. Maybe it's because of everything that's been happening with them the last little while (Voynov situation, Mike Richards completely fall apart, missing the playoffs last year), but this year, they're already off to a 0-2 start.

Jack Eichel looks pretty good and ready. I think McDavid has a lot of pressure on him to be this phenom, but he hasn't looked terrible. I will get to watch the Oilers play the Predators tonight, so I'm really psyched to see how the game plays out.

Toronto put in a valiant effort first game, but weren't able to overcome Carey Price's skills. The Tampa Bay Lightning seem poised to pick up where they left off last year, so they look good.

3 on 3 was pretty wild in that Flyers game! I like the idea, we'll see how it goes. Hopefully it leads to more wins than ties. I definitely prefer it to the shoot out. I was not a fan of the shoot out, personally.

Well, my Flyers are off to their usual slow start. Overtime loss in Tampa, followed by a thorough ass-whuppin' courtesy of the Panthers last night. The blueliners were turnstiles and goalie Steve Mason was horrific, pulled after four goals in the first seven minutes of the game. Revolting!

San Jose is off to a decent start. They beat the favoured Stanley Cup winners for 2016, Anaheim Ducks.

BTW...the new look Nashville Predators are hideous. Those colours and helmets? WOW!

Oh, yeah, the Flyers held a player's only meeting following last night's debacle. After the SECOND game of the season. Not exactly a good omen.

The Flyers bounced back big time from Saturday's debacle in Florida as they nipped the Panthers 1-0 in their home opener last night. With Steve Mason away for personal reasons, backup Michael Neuvirth stopped 31 shots for his first shutout in more than three years.

Is Boston Bruins on the verge of taking apart the team? The team is off to a lousy start and there was already talks the coach being on the hot seats.

Can't believe I didn't start this thread. Anyhow, my beloved Blackhawks won the Cup this past summer, and I'm betting they win it again next summer. Yes, we lost some talent (Saad, Oduya) but we also added a LOT of talent in Panirin, Anisimov and Dano.

We're still thin at the bottom of our defensemen, but with guys like Seabs, Duncs and Jelly at the top, we can't complain too much.

Solid goal tending again from Crow and Darling will help us win another Cup in 2016! Go Hawks!!

HOLY SHIT! The Calgary Flames got Dougie Hamilton. With him on the team, the Flames may now have the best defense core in the NHL. Hopefully, they'll add some size to their forward line-up, because...at this point, the way to the Cup seems to be through Anaheim, Chicago and LA.

The Kings are done. They're old and slow and you can't be slow in the West and win. They won't even make the playoffs again this year.

At least Bruins fans are saved from pretending to care what happens to their team this year. It is nice to see a team quit on the season before training camp.

So... what do you guys think of the possibility of the Arizona Coyotes not even being in Arizona this year, due to the serious issues between IceArizona & the Glendale arena.

I wouldn't be shocked to see them move, maybe to Vegas. But who knows

If they got rid of some of the goons on their team and actually tried to score goals instead of laying the big hits on players they might win.

Everyone keeps talking about Eichel and McDavid, but Panarin is extremely talented and is going to put up huge numbers playing on the 2nd line with Kaner and Anisimov.
