Surrogate father? I hope not. Richard isn't that old.He should be younger than Spider-Man. Maybe in his mid 20s? I like to think that he will be written as a older brother type to Sam rather than a father or old uncle figure.

Maybe there's a bit of disconnect in the idea, but as far as I'm concerned, he wouldn't have to be a father or an old man or so on to come off as or be seen as a father-figure to Sam. I also kinda see father-figure and older brother-figure as somewhat interchangeable in this sense.

I mean, it's not as if Rich is gonna move into Sam's house and marry his mom and become Sam's actual father or anything.

It could just be Rich imagining his as deceased. That scene makes me think his father died while he was away.

I wouldn't get my hopes up to high for this book, with Marvel having to do a twist with any of their pre 2012 characters, i half expect Rich to molest Sam at the end of the book
