Holy Crap!!! Hitch is on his A game here. That art is stunning. That first page especially is awesome.

I would totally buy that. Seeing Hawkman bash a few ogres or dragons in the face with his mace and chain while flying to dodge the fire. Would be so sweet.

Or maybe Hawkman the barbarian.

But I also think that it's nice to be able to have the two characters separate for a while and establish who they are as individual characters in absence of each other before we bring them together. Let's build to that moment. Let's make it really impactful, and let's have them see who they are as individuals before we see who they are together.

It's good to know Venditti has mapped out Hawkman's new history, although I'm not sure I get how he doesn't remember his origin unless Khufu isn't the original Hawkman anymore.
