jean paul. He may have been a brutal psychotic Batman, but he totally made it his own thing. From the change in suit, to no partner, even had the subway car! He was a neat replacement Bat.

It is a bit of a loaded question, how many of those characters were given enough time for growth and development? Would say only about 3 or so the rest having no time to tell their story. Would Tim have been a better planner than Bruce? Would HE have started the whole brother eye mess? Would Jason have stayed psychotic or would his run ins with kids like himself temper his anger? Questions like that can be asked of most of the people on the list. I picked no favorite
1. Dick Grayson
2. Terry McGinnis
3. Damian Wayne
Dick's a lock thanks to Batman and Robin and The Black Mirror. Terrific stories.
lol pretty overwhelming support for Dick. I voted for Damian cause I love the post-apocalyptic future Damian stories so much but Dick is a close second.
Formerly known as YMCMB
I consider Terry more of a successor than a replacement, so my vote goes to Dick. He's really the only one I consider truly worthy of stepping in. His run in the cowl with Damian as Robin was really fun stuff and Black Mirror is just a fantastic read.
That said, I love the current arc with Gordon as Batman. It sounds like a blasphemous idea on paper but I think it's a very refreshing (and obviously temporary) approach to the character of Batman and offers a brand new perspective. Essentially everyone else in the poll wanted to be Batman to a degree, but Jim is the everyman with a heart of gold that's thrust into this larger-than-life role. I'm excited to see where it goes and I think I'll look back on it very fondly.
The first three Robins are the only ones that can do it and among them Dick's the only I like seeing do it.
1. Terry McGinnis-He's the one that's made the MOST sense as a replacement (decades in the future, Bruce is a sick old man and NEEDS to train a replacement). Plus he was an interesting character in his own right and I liked the "Batman meets Blade Runner" Neo-Gotham.
2. Dick Grayson-He's a close second, and made the most sense if you're going to kill off "in his prime" Bruce. Plus those stories, and his dynamic with Damian, were a lot of fun.
