Default Secret Wars = Crisis on Infinite Earths

I'm loving Secret Wars, but it sure seems like it is borrowing heavily from Crisis on Infinite Earths. I just saw the cover to issue #7, and it looks just like the cover to COIE #12 (all the heroes versus the big villain with his mouth wide open). And SW#1 cover looks like COIE#1 (all the heroes flying around in space while earths destruct). And the whole multiverse is dying thing, and the merging of all the earths into one. Anyone else feeling the connection? With that being said, Hickman is doing it right. Best comic out there right now.

It's essentially the Original Secret Wars transformed into COIE. A fusion dance where the Anti-Monitor is already dead, and everyone has to fight the newly minted Monitor.

But there is the merging of heroes (Miles is now with 616 heroes, for example).

Just surprised Hickman/Marvel didn't at least throw a "thanks to DC/Wolfman/Perez" in there somewhere.

Not really, they state he Is a survivor.

Nothing else looks merged as 5 into one.

Don't forget that Marvel's 2015 Secret Wars is celebrating the 30th anniversary of DC's Crisis on Infinite Earths (which began in 1985 and wrapped up in 1986). You can maybe say it's for the 30th anniversary of the original Secret Wars, but that mostly was in 1984 and ended in early 1985.

The 2015 Secret Wars also seems to be "borrowing" from DC's Flashpoint, which featured Flash trying to travel back in time but unwittingly causing his Earth to be transformed and all the heroes (and villains) he knew had changed significantly. Flashpoint ended with all the main-universe DC books being relaunched with new #1 issues back in 2011 (the start of the New 52).

What are you on about, Marvel said bajillion times nothing deleted. Costume changes are not reboots, their old ones still existed.

    Compare:
Crisis on infinite Earths #12 (The grand finale) Cover by George Perez:

Secret wars #8 (The grand finale) Alternate cover by Alex Ross:

There exists certain similitude... But maybe it's only Ross opinion.

If anything it's like Age of X meets Emperor Joker

All I see are superficial similarities, the plots are completely different.
