My first exposure to HM was via my dad's collection of '70s and early '80s issues. The Moebius stuff in particular blew my 10 year old mind and I remain a huge Moebius fan to this day. I bought the magazine through the '90s but it seemed to lose its way under Eastman and devolved into random cheesecake. My guess is HM always walks the fringes of solvency and because sex sells, that's the route they went. But given the kind of guy Morrison is and his creative tastes, I really hope he returns HM to its trippy, mind-expanding roots. While the magazine always had some erotic overtones, which I suppose you'll find in most anything geared towards adults, the focus was certainly on the truly alien and the strange.

For anyone here who reads Image's "Prophet", do you think Brandon Graham is a Lone Sloane fan?

Heavy Metal has a booth at San Diego and they are selling this cover variant there. Any word on a panel with him front and center?

Expect a lot of characters to be completely aware they're in a work of fiction from here on in.
