well this is disappointing to read. The book is on my pull list and waiting with my other subs for me to pick up. It's too late to skip this #1. I'll read it and see how my impression aligns with those in this thread! I hope I don't have to cancel it I was actually looking forward to this one

Wonder if theres going to be a Big Bad in this like Red Skull, just so Winter Soldier and team can meet up with Cap.

Point. An explosion is the least thorough method of killing someone in fiction, since often there isn't enough left to identify, meaning whoever was supposed to be blown up could've easily used the explosion as camouflage for his or her escape and is probably now just biding their time waiting for the right moment to reemerge.

I really liked this. Read like a Hickman book and I mean that as a compliment.

The OP missed a HUGE development there: it WAS NOT Tony the one responsible for blowing up the prison. T'challa think it was Iron Man, but Maria Hill says it was T'challa. It's obvious someone set this thing up.

But overall I agree this issue was very uninteresting.

Can't really base an entire run off one issue.

In all fairness a lot of people were killed. The ones that weren't were the ones needed for the story, and in this case T'Challa wasn't.

And who got to decide that?

Exactly. If I did that with all my books, I would've never read Hickman's Republic Burning arc in The Ultimates, and that was a fun ride (until Humphries derailed it...).

I really liked this issue. The exposition was bit heavy and I'm not the biggest fan of the art, but I was really held by the story. That said, I am bummed about Panther and Cloak. I didn't really connect the dots right away, but it's a trope that I'm done with.

Oh of course I'm not judging the whole series and I'll continue it. I'm was just replying to someone commenting it was setting the tone. If the tone really was set then based on this it'd be a slower dialogue heavy arc.
