Magnetic Press is also giving us some interesting stuff to look forward to. Such as Naja a 248 page hardcover by JD Morvan and Bengal this July.

Naja is the perfect killer because she feels nothing... literally. Her body registers no pain, nor does her heart, coldly executing jobs given to her by her mysterious boss, known only as "Zero." When another killer in Zero's organization targets Naja for elimination, she has no choice but to fall off the grid and seek answers, as bloody as they might be...

Written by international creative powerhouse JD Morvan (Sillage, Zaya) and illustrated by French sensation Bengal (Meka, Luminae), this 248 page hardcover graphic novel collects the entire five-book series into a single lavish album! Featuring a foreword by Rick Remender (Fear Agent, Last Days of American Crime)!

Check out this cool US Release Trailer:

Also in July Zaya by JD Morvan, but now with artist Huang-Jia Wei.

A secret agent in the distant future leaves her post to seek a normal life as an artist and mother. When a biomechanical threat starts attacking agents across the galaxy, she is called back into the field to find and stop the killer. The mission opens many questions about her own past, present, and future within not only the organization, but within the universe as she knows it. This sci-fi action-mystery is told through breathtaking design and illustration by Huang-Jia Wei, known throughout the field for his bio-mechanical aesthetic and lushly painted artwork.

Written by international creative powerhouse JD Morvan (Sillage, Naja) and illustrated by Chinese wunderkind Huang-Jia Wei (Ya San), this volume collects all three books in the award-winning series into a single luscious album presented in English for the very first time!

In August we should see Meka by the same duo as Naja.

In a future where civilization is defended by giant, humanoid vehicles known as “Meka”, two pilots learn to deal with the consequences of their unquestioning dedication to military duty as their vehicle is incapacitated in the center of a once-thriving city they themselves turned into a war zone!

Written by JD Morvan (Sillage, Zaya) and illustrated by Bengal (Meka, Luminae), this volume collects both books in the sought-after MEKA series – “Inside” and “Outside” – into a single album presented in English for the very first time!

And another originally French title that peaked my interest from Magnetic Press is Angoulême winning book Doomboy by Tony Sandoval, that should be published in September.

D’s not trying to be a rock god. He’s just a lonely teenager with an active imagination playing songs to his lost love beyond the grave. But when that music reaches farther than expected, he unkowingly becomes the anonymous Metal Legend known only as DOOMBOY!

DOOMBOY tells the story of an ordinary, lonely teenager with an active imagination and a love of metal music. When his girlfriend passes away suddenly, he decides to broadcast songs to her beyond the grave, playing his heart out under the secret name “Doomboy”. What he doesn’t realize, however, is that those broadcasts are picked up all across town… and beyond. Soon the music of Doomboy becomes legendary, and his innocent private life quickly turns inside out.

The award-winning graphic novel by the internationally-renowned comic virtuoso TONY SANDOVAL!

Again a cool trailer (except for the horrid music, but that's just me I guess)...

Nope I haven't, since none of these books have been translated to Dutch... but I'll probably get them. Excellent price for so many pages and all books seem to oversized hardcovers! There are slipcased editions available through Magnetic Press' webstore too.

    Default Tintin oversized hardcovers

In the general hardcover thread some questions were raised as to which editions of Tintin to get. There's some editions that collect multiple volumes, but these are just too small to read. Don't buy them, but instead get the Egmont editions that are released in their original European album size of 29.4cm (12"). These editions are always in stock at amazon.co.uk for pretty good prices. Right now one volume is less than £8. Below are the links to all of them on amazon.co.uk. You may pick up volume 1-3 later and start at Cigars of the Pharaoh. Volume 4-5, 11-12, 13-14 and 16-17 are double albums with a continuing story arc.

Thanks Martin, that was exactly what I was looking for regarding the Tintin volumes. I guess I know what I will be doing for the next few months.

And Zaya looks fantastic, my wallet may not think so, but you are obviously the greatest moderator that has ever existed.

(Will I get beat up too badly on shipping from Amazon UK?)
