"Towards the end of the session, a fan asked if writing Suicide Squad was more rewarding with better-known villains, or more obscure ones that may be expendable. Ryan chose the former. "I know part of 'Suicide Squad' is people dying all the time, but at that point, you're not really getting invested in anyone," Ryan said.
Except that they did it all the time in the first series. It's called making a freakin' effort.
No wonder that Suicide Squad isn't working, writer is more interesting in something like Society of Super Villains than in Suicide Squad.
Would like to see titles featuring Lex, Phantom Zone villains, joker, Court of Owls, Greek gods, black lanterns, Crime Syndicate, Rogues, Secret Society, etc.
