No the All-Star books were DC's answer to Marvel's Ultimate universe. They were supposed to be about heroes in a modern setting and just starting their superhero careers. This book was supposed to be taken seriously.

There are blatant jokes every other page. It's a funny book.

But, maybe DK3 will take this into account and before Reagan or the Yellow Kid shows up again, they'll put a footnote that says "This is kind of funny here."

Something that is trying to be taken seriously can have jokes in it.

The Earth-One idea is just the All Star line done right. The All-Star books failed (though All-Star Superman is incredible) and most of them were stuck in development hell like All-Star Batgirl and Wonder Woman. Hell All-Star Batman was so bad that they didn't even finish publishing it.

As far as I know, they haven't finished it because Jim Lee is buy with other projects. I can't see DC cancelling a limited series because of the quality. It's not very respectful towards readers.

The ones that were released still sell incredibly well and are continuously talked about. They both got turned into memes that reached far further than the average DC comic can even hope to.

Please, at least try not to project. You don't like it. That's cool. You're allowed, as is anyone, to dislike something. But there's no evidence whatsoever that All-Star was "so bad that they didn't even finish publishing it." It seems much more likely that the talent were busy with other things (work, life, medical) and it became a low priority because of those took the priority. Not because of the quality of the work or whether you like it or not.

Not all good comics have to be aimed at you, or at me. Not all good comics have to be aimed at any particular person.

Also, Earth-One, so far, has bored me any time I've tried. Waiting for Wonder Woman, but because of the talent involved, not the imprint.

I always wished Miller told that in his continuity. It would have been much better than the actual Death in the Family story, which went way off the rails at the end, for me.
