The fact that Charlene is listed as a member of the team (and included in the cover image) suggests that is the direction they are headed in. Dr. McGowan could be a superhero without necessarily getting a costume and powers. There is precedent for other scientist superheroes who go into action with just their guts, brains and gizmos. Hank Pym served as an Avenger for years as just "Dr. Pym, scientific adventurer" without using any of his costumed identities. Dr. Toni Ho has also gone the 'scientific adventurer' route since giving up her Iron Patriot armour -- she's still served alongside her fellow heroes in the field.

Of course, given the number of gamma beings and experiments Charlene has been exposed to, gaining powers isn't exactly out of the question either....

    The Week In Gay:

Champions #5 - Viv Vision, Nadia and Jake Oh all appear in this issue. Also the incoming new LGBT creative team of Danny Lore and Luciano Vecchio get a prelude story here too.

    Thor #13 - Loki appears

I think that's it for this week.

    The Week In Gay:

Black Panther #24 - Prodigy is among the many guest stars and cameos in this issue.

Excalibur #19 - Rictor tries to use his developing knowledge of mutant magic to restore Betsy's spirit to her body

Guardians Of The Galaxy #12 - conclusion to the battle with the Greek gods, setting up the new expanded team status quo that begins next issue. A few of those new members show up here, but not any of the openly LGBT ones. Still, we've got Hercules, Noh-Varr, Star-Lord, Moondragon and Phyla already in the mix, and Moondragon and Phyla get a significant moment in this issue, both in terms of the battle and in terms of the state of their relationship after the two Moondragons merged into one being.

Maestro: War & Pax #3 - The Pantheon are major players in this miniseries, including their openly gay member Hector

Savage Avengers #19 - Iceman gets to kick some butt in this issue!

I'll also mention King In Black: Scream since Scream's solo series looked like they were hinting that Andi is lesbian or bisexual, but the book got cancelled before it could be developed. This one-shot deals with some loose ends from when the book was cancelled partway through an arc due to the pandemic, but unfortunately Andi's sexuality wasn't one of them.

There was a plot leak of the Eternals from someone who saw a test screening of the film before re-shoots. Here's the info on the gay character Phastos for anyone who's interested.

    spoilers:
Phastos and his husband live with their child and he decides to help due to the fact that he has fully embraced the human race and wants to protect his family.
This is different than the earlier plot leaks which claimed that Phastos was going to become "disillusioned with humanity", it also means that Phastos' family is in the present day, not the past. The leaks also claims that Phastos invents a device that acts as the Uni-Mind that channels all of the Eternals' energy together, as opposed to the Uni-Mind being a psychic power where all the Eternals' minds join as one.
    end of spoilers

    The Week In Gay:

Black Cat #4 - this issue focused on Queen Cat (Lily Hollister) who looks like she may become a recurring nemesis for Felicia, with a healthy dose of "foe-yay".

Captain America #28 - Toni Ho appears.

King In Black: Return Of The Valkyries #4 of 4 - a couple of the Valkyries in the story are gay or bisexual.

And in the behind-the-scenes category, Steve Orlando's Avengers: Curse Of The Man-Thing came out as well, which kicks off a three part story told across three one-shot specials.

Can anybody tell me what other Savage Avengers issues Iceman has been/will be in?

    The Week In Gay:

Black Cat #5 - this issue makes reference to Felicia's relationship with her ex-girlfriend Tamara

Children Of The Atom #2 - Mystique makes a brief appearance

Guardians Of The Galaxy #13 - the already very LGBT-inclusive team adds Hulkling, Wiccan and Avril Kincaid to the cast in this issue. Given the recent relationship tensions between Phyla and Moondragon, I wonder how long until we see a love triangle develop between them and Avril?

Iron Man #8 - Moondragon guest stars, helping Patsy with her mental health struggles so that she can access and control her latent psionic powers.

Maestro: War & Pax #4 of 5 - Hector and the rest of the Pantheon appear

    Power Pack #5 of 5

Spider-Man: Spider's Shadow #1 of 4 - Black Cat appears in this "What If" tale of an alternate reality where Peter never gave up the symbiote and ended up becoming Venom himself

Thor & Loki: Double Trouble #2 of 4

    Thor #14 - Loki appears

    Wolverine #11 - Dracula appears

    It's just a one-page cameo.

    Remember that Feral is LGBTQ.

She was with Tempo in Age of X.
