Al Ewing really doing lord's work. He brought Avril back!!!
At this point I'm not even afraid of getting my hopes up that he'll bring 616 Phyla back (and maybe merge her with the AU version like he did with Moondragon) so we can have a proper interaction between Teddy and his actual sister. Also, bring Xavin back while we're at it. And Sera too, since she was supposed to be in space last time we saw her. Just... give the queers everything we want, Al!
All signs point to Kl'rt so far, but I would actually love if it was a misdirect and it turned out to be Xavin. We don't really need Kl'rt's crusty ass working alongside Teddy, specially after Empyre.
Marvel putting Booth on the GotG covers is homophobic. "A New Age of Space" with cover art straight from 1994.
Super inclusive team sexuality wise.
Wiccan, Hulkling, Starlord, Avril, Moondragon, Phylla, Noh Var and Herc - plus Wendall was meant to be bi decades ago, but Gru was stopped from going through with it. Wonder if they'll finally go through with it now.
I'm just going to hope Ewing is allowed to write pan Doom, just for the fan boy explosion that would follow

I will raise my throne above the Stars of God
Yeah, Gru introduced Makari from the Eternals to the title and was planning to have an open love triangle with Wendall, him and Her maybe? But he wasnt allowed to do it as it was far far far too progressive for the time. I remember reading about it years ago in a magazine, maybe Wizard, and then it's popped up online a few times. Sadly with Gru dead, it's not an easy one to pin down as truth or urban myth

Absolutely. It used to be something of a three way tie between GOTG, X-FACTOR and MARAUDERS for which was Marvel's most LGBT-inclusive book, but GOTG is certainly stepping into the lead now!
Yeah, there has been speculation about Wendell's sexuality for years (including from characters in-story), so it will be interesting to see if Ewing decides to do something with that. There was certainly plenty of subtext between him and Makkari back in the day, and Living Lightning coming out of the closest after living with Wendell for months always made me suspect something happened there too.
I do have a mild worry that if Ewing were to out Wendell that there might be some backlash against him for "making everyone gay" since in the past 12 issues he's outed Quill and gave both Hercules and Noh-Varr their first 100% explicit on-panel confirmation of bisexuality. But with the big jump in LGBT inclusion at Marvel in the past year or so, I guess they wouldn't care even if there is any such backlash.
If Wendell does get outed as bi or gay, that would make three Quasars who have been LGBT. The quantum bands destroyed most other users--which the QUASAR series said was because they were too aggressive, and Wendell lacked the "killer instinct", which is what made the bands accept them. That reason clearly doesn't hold up because both Phyla and Avril were more aggressive types. Maybe the quantum bands can only be used by LGBT people, for some reason.
The Week In Gay:

Power Pack #3
X-Force #17 - Jumbo Carnation guest stars to provide a new outfit for Quire.
