They were Avengers and now they won't be anymore, that is downgrading. And the fact they have made that decision in-universe for themselves as if it wasn't just an excuse for making room for the same old farts to come back to the Main Team doesn't make it better in my opinion. Freaks is an old black-and-white horror movie from the 30s. There's a scene where one of the circus performers marries one of the "freaks" and they chant; "Gooble gobble! Gooble gobble!
