GoG2's director is threatening us with more female characters, so I'd say Moondragon might actually make it into that film by virtue of being Drax's daughter. Or if they nix that (because comic Drax has a crazy origin), they will likely use Phyla, particularly when they use Adam Warlock.

BTW, Adam Warlock is a triple god and one of his three identities is a goddess, so I can see at least a Bi Warlock should Marvel ever go there.

Also, also no one has pointed out that Hercules is as bi as they get (the Greek pantheon in general is so open about these things). And had an AU kiss with AU Wolverine

I think I read that the rights to Alpha Flight are with Marvel but I don't know if that includes all the characters or not. It'd be odd since I think of Alpha Flight and X-Men being tied together but I suppose they could just be Canada's answer to the Avengers team with elves or inhumans.

Yeah if they do reveal a character as trans or create a new one going through transition, it's not something that needs to be constantly referenced after that. It could just be in a definitive "Origin of..." mini series (like for Emma ) or for whoever. In real life, trans people are just people. They don't constantly talk about being trans unless it's a point of conversation with someone who isn't understanding them.

I guess we could ask Adam Lambert what it was like?

Actually, he did say something, possibly better than quiet acceptance, he said 'my child who is both' referring to Loki's ability to shift between the two and be happy as either.
With Loki, I'd imagine if a talking rabbit showed up and said "Hi, father" you'd just respond "Hi, Loki" and go with it.

I was about to say it was actually more believable that a small group wouldn't contain a LGBT character and then I realized that is what you were saying, so... Agreed, lol.

Yeah, when Drax mentioned about the deaths of his wife and daughter, I kept thinking "Moondragon in the sequel, Moondragon in the sequel!!" ;P

Gay Characters in Comics: The Bumpy Road of Marvel Comics in the Mid-2000s

Worth a read; but one part stood out. I didn't realise Punisher possibly being gay was 616 comic canon. Do we add him to the OP???

I don't consider that a statement on Punisher since he is denying it. Like Iceman, its complete speculation.

Yeah BUT he has gay porn mags... I mean it's not like someone planted them or merely accused him based on nothing. If I found George Clooney's brief case and inside was nothing but gay porn... surely it is fair to say it is more than speculation? I don't know; I might add him with the "---" over his name (like with Storm and Psylocke).

This has been pointed out either in this thread or one of the other threads. Most, if not all, GODS should be designated as Pansexuals. Though there is not a word yet that covers Gods having sex with anything they want be it humans, animals, trees, objects etc, that they tend to do. Maybe we can create one? Pagansexual?

That sort of destroys the entire Punisher character.

If we make him gay, then his family and kids were all a lie anyway, so why would he be that pissed that all got gunned down?

Or are we going to suggest that his wife was the only woman for him, so even looking at porn women would be like cheating, but looking at men is different because they aren't women so he isn't cheating because you know, it isn't cheating if it's a guy?

Or maybe they literally 'blew away' his cover? He's annoyed because at the mob for ruining his life, but it was a fake life, so rather than accept it was a fake life anyway and they really did him a favour killing them so he could now be free to be gay, but because he is so far in the closet he is in Narnia, he'd rather kill things than admit he wants some cock.

Or, how I read it, Punisher is just a dick head ultra-conservative and he just sees gay porn stars as degenerates who may be suspects for him to shoot up because he's a complete murdering hardliner?

Didn't they just say in a Loki comic that all gods in the MU are only male or female at all because they think they are those sexes and genders?

I really don't think Punisher likes men. That was just a petty feud between the writers of Punisher and Wolverine, the writers of Wolverine thought it would be funny to include that "lulz, PUNISHER IS GAAAAAAY!!!".

    edit: yeah, like Spider-chan says.

This whole story better be ignored, as it was Frank Tieri's trying to avenge Logan's humiliation by the Punisher in Garth Ennis's series.
And what is the way Tieri choose to humiliate the Punisher? Suggest that he is gay. Like in "hurr hurr, u gay!"

I always hated those petty fights between writers (your character defeated my character in your story? well, my character will humiliate yours), but this one is particulary awful, as it reeks of homophobia.

Eh, you're sort of being a dick-head here, lol. They're his wife and kids, of course he loved them! Regardless of his sexuality. Especially his kids, man. He might've grown up in a conservative situation where marrying and having kids was just the thing to do. Not everybody feels like they can freely express who they truly are (not that I have to tell anyone that, but just sayin').

How I read that part in the post is just his enemies messing around with him. "Hey, let's make everyone think Punisher's gay, that's so funny." I don't want to rely on gender/sexuality stereotypes, but Punisher as a character has a very heterosexual masculinity. A man who lost his wife and children who has become a mass killer.

What I found interesting in that article is Freedom Ring...which is probably not the best name to give a gay character, in any case. Do guys asking out other guys in the cafeteria actually happen, though? What alternative universe is this? xD That would have been like 14 year old me's fantasy.

As mugiwara mentioned, this should better be forgotten, but we have to remember that feeling attraction to more than one gender is a thing. If Frank or any other character whose wife and family was fridged and is later revealed that the character does like the opposite sex, it doesn't mean that he never loved his wife, it could simply mean that the character likes more than one gender but he fell in love with a woman.
