Yeah, don't even get me started on "Anole."
Yeah, agreed on both parts, including that it's best forgotten.
So annoyed that editors let this get printed in the first place, really. When did this come out? It doesn't look like that long ago. They really should've known better.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!
IF (and I agree with everyone it's best to ignore) Punisher was gay, it's actually REALLY easy to explain/justify. Frank's whole issue with his dead family could be linked to his repressed sexuality. He blames his homosexuality. In his broken mind he feels his "lack of being a man" (in conservative terms, obviously I don't hold with this doctrine) is why he couldn't save them. If he had been str8 he would have magically had the power to protect them "as a true man should." And this repression got to such a boiling point that he just snapped; and now spends his life killing others, because he cannot come to terms with a) his homosexuality, b) the fact gay or straight, it wouldn't have saved him family.
Mostly I agree, but Bendis' Kitty "rebuttle" to the infamous Alex speech was PRICELESS!!!
Not that I think Punisher should be LGBT but he could be Bi and repressing his male-loving side since he loves women and therefore can't be gay (like it's the only two choices that happen).
Kieran's theory also works as his self-loathing could lead to blame, maybe was getting a quickie when his family was shot?
But yeah, it looked more like the gay as insult. 2003 was w Bush's first term in office. Seems like a while ago (thankfully)
The rumor that I heard (and I don't know if this is completely accurate, so don't quote me on it), was that the Wolverine writer at the time (Frank Tieri I think) was annoyed/upset by how Garth Ennis treated Wolverine in one of his Punisher books, so this might be his "revenge" so to speak. Again, I'm not sure about that, but it'd make some kind of sense.

Is there anything in-issue which definitively states Deadpool and Psylocke are bisexual? Personally, I've always read Deadpool as "straight plus jokey" - and in any case, who WOULD want to have sexuality of any kind with a living cancer? Gerry Duggan apparently said he was omni/pansexual on Twitter but I've never read anything which has supported that. As for the Psylocke issue, I know she had a brief relationship (and sexual relations) with Fantomex's clone, Cluster, in Uncanny X-Force, but I assumed that was a 'one case basis' - as in, she feels affection for male Fantomex, and because of those feelings it doesn't matter that clone Fantomex has all the wrong parts. Maybe someone who's read the issue can correct me and say, nope, she explicitly stated her sexuality as bisexual, but I don't think that is the case.
Why I'm interested in this is I've been preparing to work on a piece of art which incorporates the queer X-Men together - and I'm thinking I might do the same for the Avengers, Golden Age heroes and villains. Will let you know how it turns out and might just show the results! I'm working off the list at the start of the thread, which I assume is as complete as possible. Are the character names in " " to indicate that their sexuality is speculation or a supposition? It could be useful to add to the list, for characters who weren't queer upon inception, a list of the issue where their sexuality was first revealed/hinted at.
Thanks guys. *imagines Deadpool wearing a Jane Foster wig*
