Default E-Mail Address Request On The Home Page

I run into it every time I visit the CBR. It still comes up even though I've clicked "Don't Show Me This Again".

Some sort of flaw in the request, maybe?

While I can understand the request, it is a bit odd to have it showing up every single time you visit the site.

Please answer the following questions so we can figure it out:

-- What operating system are you using? Specific release name/number.
-- What browser are you using?
-- Do you allow cookies with your browser?
-- Does this happen with every browser you've tried it on, or only a specific browser?

    Thanks.

    Hi Jonah,

I'm getting that email subscription request on my end too:

    Work computer PC

    Running Windows 7
    IE 9 (firm won't upgrade)
Chrome (not sure of the version)
    yes every browser.
    Yup Cookies

Same situation at home on a Mac
    Running latest Mavericks OS
Using latest versions of Firefox and Safari.
    Yup, Cookies.

Like the previous poster I've clicked don't show again and whenever I return regardless of browser it pops up. Hope you can fix this if we check it, it does not come back.

I'm having the same thing and it's annoying enough that I've stopped going to the home page.

    Using latest version of firefox.

Noticed this morning that it is only coming up after being offline and restarting the browser. Once I've visited the homepage and dealt with the e-mail request once, it is not showing up again and again like it was yesterday.

Will list the tech details later when I have a bit more time.

Thanks, all -- we've removed it from the main site, but it's still on the blogs. We're testing some things out and hope to have a solution that better tracks your responses shortly.

This email subscription window is now jumping to this url:

    http://www.youradexchange.com/ad/display.php?r=276966

I am on Google chrome at work (running Windows 7)...

And when you eventually say you're not interested in subscribing that pop up window shows up every single time I come to CBR. For the record, I clear my cache/history on purpose, but still.

    Thank you...

This is very odd -- YourAdExchange.com is not a service CBR uses. Are you sure these two items are related?

    We're looking in to it.

That popped up several times on the 20th and then the next morning another ad requiring flash hijacked my chrome browser. Luckily I just quit chrome. I don't quite remember if this was still on the machine at work or or my Mac at home (I hate Chrome but I use it for stuff which requires flash.)

From my Mac at home, Safari shows no issues today.

    Thanks for the investigation.
