    Default Search for Cyclops Question

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but as seen in my signature I've been embarking on quite a long quest. Currently I am up to the X-Men vs. Apocalypse: The Twelve arc. I just bought the trade paperback for that as well as Ages of Apoc. which follows right after.

The mini-series 'The Search for Cyclops: #1-4' comes at the end of the second trade, but was definitely written was later than the other comics. My question is, does this search for cyke actually happen right away, meaning right after the events of Apocalypse, or is he missing for quite some time before they go searching for him?

Some of the sites I've been using for continuity suggest that you wouldn't read the search until later, just wondering why it was included in the trade paperback though.

Hope that question wasn't too confusing, also if I am asking in the wrong section please let me know.

    Thanks.

Doesn't look like my signature is showing, but here is where I'm at:

On a quest to read all X-Men related comics in chronological order
    Titles I'm currently reading:
    Uncanny X-Men - X-Men v2 - X-Force - Wolverine - Generation X - Deadpool - Cable - Gambit v3 - X-Man

Unless I am the only one who can't see my sig...

EDIT: Yeah this post looks very dumb now -____-

The search doesn't happen right away he was gone for some time but I can't remember for how long. If I remember correctly the search is right before Morrison's New X-Men run. I think they included it in the trade because it ties up the Cyclops merged with Apocalypse plot.

Ahhh I am pretty sure you're right now that I'm looking into it. I'm guessing it would be right around X-Men 114 or so, which like you said is the beginning of New X-Men... I'll just read it before I start that.

    Thanks a lot buddy.

It must be in the trade to wrap up the story for readers.

I think Cyclops first appearance back in the comics after The Search for Cyclops was X-men #112.
Which was the Eve of Destruction arc. So Search for Cyclops would have taken place just before that.

Since The Twelve storyline took place in X-Men #96-98 (include in the two TPBs you read) then he was gone for about a year.

I don't think it'll spoil anything for you.
Although the Search for Cyclops does have Cable and Jean Grey in it.
And I think they'll feature heavily in the next few trades you'll be reading.
    (Going from memory on that)
Trying to catch up on 2 years of Marvel comics.....
Comic Book Parody - Funny comic book stuff.
X-Men: Drama of the Atom - An unfinished Battle of the Atom parody.

Thanks Anthony. I'll just read it right before X-Men 112 then.

I don't think he did. All I remember after the 12 storyline is Cable's costume that paid homage to him.

That's messed up. They have funerals for everyone else except Cyclops.

Probably because they thought he was still alive. At least Jean did.
Interesting Fact: Cyclops runs the X-Office.
