I was never quite able to get into Shiera. Are any of the Golden Age stories good?

I voted pre-Crisis as well. Hawkworld Shayera was brash and fun, but pre-Crisis Shayera was very smart and had a nuance about her that just makes her stand out among other Silver Age women. At least to me anyway...

She was pretty great in Tony Isabella's Hawkman series. The highlights for me are the issue where she takes on Lion-Mane which I believe is #4. Also, Action Comics #588 by John Byrne--not only does she look great via Byrne art, but she also takes out Byth and Darkwing while piloting a ship.

Thanks! I will try to find those comics.

She also had some good stories in Steve Englehart's Justice League of America, when Steve had her become a full-fledged member of the JLA.

I wish Comixology would brush up on the Justice League of America selection so I could read them for more completion. I haven't read much of Shayera's JLA appearances. I could track down single issues, but that seems a bit tedious.

Still, I did enjoy her introduction into the League.

Hawkman deserves a lot of credit for his insistence that she's proved her usefulness to the time many times over.

So who do you think would make a great live action version of Hawkwoman?

Thats what happened to me. Hawkgirl was tied for my favourite character in that series (with John Stewart and The Question) and made me a fan of that character.
Pulling: Spider-Gwen, All New Captain America, Ms Marvel, Secret Six, Daredevil, Uncanny X-Men, Grayson, Batman, Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man, A-Force, Cyborg, Starfire

That would certainly raise Shayera's profile.

I'm not sure who I would pick. Ashley Greene?

This thread is for the appreciation of Hawkwoman (Shayera Thal-Hol) known sometimes as Hawkgirl.

As of lately, she hasn't been seen since her supposed death in Savage Hawkman, but there have been some indications that we will see her again.
I thought she died during the Infinite Crisis?

But she came back at the end of Blackest Night, though none of that matters any longer as of September 2011.
