Default Would you like to see the Amalgam universe return?

The Amalgam universe was basically the Marvel and DC universes merged together; it was Earth-9602, I believe. The last we hear of it was in DC/Marvel All Access and apparently it still exists (although considering the current events going on at Marvel, it probably got wiped out...) Now the climate has certainly changed since the late 90's, but if Marvel and DC could work together would you want to see this universe return?

And if you do, what would you want to see from it? Which character mash-ups would you want?

Funnily enough, I was talking about this a little bit with the guy at my local comic shop today. We agreed that Amalgam was pretty cool, and that it will never happen again.

Here's the problem: It's not up to Marvel and DC. I'm sure both of them would love to do more crossovers in general, and I imagine there'd be some interest in some new Amalgam comics. But they don't actually get to make that decision. It's up to Disney and Warner, and those two companies aren't going to work together like that. Marvel and DC have always had a friendly rivalry, because most of the people at each company are friends, and they go back and forth. But Disney and Warner are huge corporations, so their rivalry is less friendly. Not that it's necessarily hostile, but there's far, far less of a personal relationship between them.

So, whether we want another set of Amalgam comics is irrelevant. They won't happen. Disney and Warner simply aren't going to allow Marvel and DC to do crossovers. t would be too big a legal headache, for nowhere near enough money to be worthwhile. Their lawyers would cost more than they'd make from the comics.

If we want more Amalgam, the only way to make it happen is to make them ourselves. Fan comics. Which aren't likely to happen, either.

I'd go for a Amalgam Digital Exclusive Via , Comixology.

My favorite out of the Amalgam Bunch was the Catwoman / Daredevil Mix called " Assassins" , it ended with many possibilities

I always thought a cooler idea for a DC/Marvel crossover would be to have a few (1-3) characters from each universe switch places for a year. So you would have someone like Wally West learning to live in a new universe, fighting Marvel villains, picking up girls at the club with Johnny Storm, etc. Or, if it was a villain, what if they used that opportunity to start anew and became a hero in the other universe.

I've actually thought about that awhile back. I think it would definitely have story potential.

Yeah. I'd rather see a crossover (preferably with the pre-Flashpoint DCU).

My original question probably wasn't clear, but the Amalgam universe wouldn't replace the current two universes; it'd be on its own (sorta like how it was prior to SW).

The current DC universe is just depressing to think about. No.
