so Sean Connery James Bond annihalates metahuman opponents and elite mooks, while Daniel Craig only kills weaker mooks and some second-rate agents in comparison? as far as the feats comparison goes?

I dunno, for me Connery-Bond lost a lot of cool points when I found out Connery was wearing a toupee.

This is a rather wild exaggeration. Connery-Bond was losing - rather badly - against Oddjob until he used an electrical cable that had been cut in the fight to kill his opponent.

He does not 'annihilate' metahuman opponents. He barely survives against them and uses convenient setting-tools to defeat them.

And as mentioned, these are really low level metas.

Yup, *very* low level metahumans. Might not even be CBPH in some cases. I only saw the first Craig one but he had a pretty impressive healing factor. He had the amazing ability to stop bleeding and have cuts and bruises vanish within seconds to minutes. His ability to heal from damage "down there" was also superhuman.

Connery Bond really didn't hurt Oddjob in any way. The most impressive thing was taking a couple of hits and still be fighting.

It's about the same as Moore Bond versus "Jaws". Nothing he did hand to hand, even a groin strike, did anything but make Jaws mad. It was just surviving being in a fight with Jaws that was impressive.

Moore Bond -did- make Jaws react/flinch a few times in the first movie he was in, I believe. I think it was Moonraker where Jaws just started tanking every single thing.

Are we basing it on villains. Because Connery fights stronger guys but he gets his ass handed to him by nearly every top tier guy and gets out of it in some convenient fashion. He electrocuted Oddjob while he was picking up a hat, he used a knife in a secret compartment to stab Red Grant and then straggled him with his own watch garrot. The blonde henchmen from You Only Twice got flipped into a man made piranha pool.

He struggled to beat a run of the mill assassin at the start of Goldfinger.

His best feat is honestly beating a bunch of nameless guards in Japan in You Only Live Twice and beating Bambi and Thumper in diamonds.

Connery's got some good endurance. That's kind of it. He's a competent fighter who gets by on being savvy more than he gets by on pure skill.

By comparison Craig fighting the bomb maker at the start of Casino Royale was a more impressive display if stamina and straight up fighting skill than anything Connery has done. Also things like Craig killing a guy under ice with his legs in freezing cold water or jumping and breaking a guys neck with his legs in Skyfall is well above Connery's pay grade.

But I'd put them very close. Neither will finish off the other fast. Craig is better and faster fighter, Conneru can take more punishment and draw him in. Strength is about a toss up. Maybe leaning on Connery. If it's in the arena without gadgets Craig will probably take 7 out of 10. If it's in any setting where the environment can be useful or gadgets are allowed of go Connery 7 out of 10.

It only counts for Connery's soak. On the flip side, Connery has stupid feats due to film speed cranking (see the chair), and has one hit "pressure point" "judo chop" KOs that Craig hasn't shown (he fights well, but more brutish and hasn't shown anything that really counts as a pressure point type thing). That's one case where the "older" choreography gives someone an advantage, which is actually rare.

True. As I recall it was more 'his head jerked' or 'Moore sticks electrical cords against Jaws' teeth'. There's a scene in The Spy Who Loved Me where they basically run Jaws into a wall with a car (going backward, not at full speed but still), and Jaws responds by picking the back end of the car off the ground. He loses his grip and it speeds off, leaving him looking just fine.

Later in the movie is when Moore punches him in the face *clank* and then knees him in the groin *also clank*. There's a pregnant pause with Moore getting a 'WTH?' expression on his face, then Jaws tosses him around some more.

Also, Jaws' teeth apparently attract bullets, as Moore shoots at him earlier and *ptang ptang* off the teeth. Why didn't Moore shoot him in the chest at this point? one might wonder, but then Jaws later survives stuff that lead me to believe he would have found 7.65mm rounds mildly amusing.

Honestly, I always thought that the second clank was due to the fact that Jaws actually bothered to where body armor, especially a metal jockstrap.

That, or he was a terminator in disguise.
