    Default Cullen Bunn's Uncanny X-Men

So Cullen Bunn and Greg Land are going to relaunch this in October

I know many have talked about it but I couldnt find a thread for it.

Magneto is the leader (Assumption because he is MAGNETO)

    img_8314.jpg

Team members included are Sabretooth, Psylocke, Mystique, and Fantomex. Sidebar: Bunn did say there would be more members.

This is the promotional cover that was released

I didn't quite like it but it is what it is. Old costumes. Doesnt really give much information. I hope we get some good variants. It is UNCANNY XMEN because this one is NOT enticing at all. (to me) But I like the characters. I don't care for Sabretooth. This might be the only X-Men series I pick up.

The only thing that I'm still curious about is if these characters are going to be the 616 characters OR are they all going to be cherry picked from different universes.

Also which characters would you like to see. I'd like Blink. They need a transporter. Or Archangel.

What artist would you like to see. I'd love if Greg Land was only the first arc and than we got rotating artists but thats just wishful thinking. I don't despise his art but its very simple.

I don't care about any of the characters particularly but I plan on reading it just because I've heard such good things about his writing of "Magneto."

So far I plan on supporting all x-mean team books come October.

I'll read it, but I'm cringing that THIS is the UNCANNY roster. Can't we call this Extraordinary and Storm's team Uncanny? Like Grey, I plan on giving all the x-team books a try, especially since there are so few.

I still think Creed's first instinct should be to string up Mystique by her own entrails after the stunts she pulled against him in Wolverines. Bunn did acknowledge in one of the threads he's fully aware that there's absolutely no reason ANYONE on this team would willingly trust and work with Mystique, so there's certainly hope they've either found a VERY good reason, or found a VERY effective restraining bolt to keep her in line (kind of like what Elixir did to Vanisher in X-Force).

Love the roster, like the writer, hate the artist…many mixed feelings about this book

It's interesting that the Uncanny title gets characters that are known to be violent. Bunn has been doing a great job on Magneto and I like the characters, especially with Magneto and Psylocke being on the same team again. I'll definitely pick it up.
Cullen Bunn said on twitter that there'll a big chance the casts get a new costume though Land's record of designing new costumes hasn't been good yet.

Agreed and seconded. To me it feels like they just want to include Mystique in because of the upcoming movie. Or having overexposed Wolverine as a character are now doing the same with her as a character imo. Cullen Bunn does not even have to create something new. In Dark X-men even someone with questionable sanity like Norman Osborn. Knew enough not to trust Mystique and implanted nannites to control the character. I'm not sure if another writer ever wrote a story where they were removed. Magneto could use his powers to activate and control them. Just as long as Mystique does not remove them in a single issue. Nor have the other characters written as idiots and she catches them completely by surprise. At this point that is simply not going to work. I don't care who compatent Mystique is. No one in the Marvel Universe villain or hero should be caught by any of her plots and backstabbing imo. Otherwise Mystique no longer has the trust of anyone. So her word is absolutely useless. Or it could be another version of Mystique like OML. At the very least post SW it's time they remove the insanity angle from the character. It's too overused boring and stale. Same thing with Sabertooth even with the inversion he should catch no one by surprise. There comes a time where writers have to stop making characters look like idiots to push favored ones imo.

That being said I'm interested in the comic. Even if I do think they should call it X-force instead.
Jean loves me this I know because the church says it so.

    Havok and Emma were right.

Yeah, I have a problem with that as well.

Well, this and freakin' MYSTIQUE again? Goddamn it, people, just leave her alone for a while. Most overused villain in the history of comics.

I'm honestly not remotely interested in this volume of Uncanny considering nothing about the looks of this feels like X-Men. I would've loved an Uncanny that was led by Rachel containing X-Men who are strangers to 616 who were survivors of Secret Wars.

    Doesnt feel like xmen? Lol

It stars a popular Xman with Psylocke and a host of its greatest and most popular villains. Two of which are main characters in the xmen movies.

Besides this isnt the entire cast as Bunn had already stated.

Alt reality survivors would feel less like xmen then this.

I for one am looking forward to more Magneto written by Bunn and love Psylocke. The connections these specific characters have with each other eill provide some interesting drama.

Only downside is Lands horrid artwork.

Magneto and Psylocke written by Bunn are positives.
Mystique and Sabretooth and Fantomex drawn by Land are HUGE negatives.

I'll read at least the first arc out of loyalty to Uncanny.

I wonder if Mystique will be eternally in the shape of women who look remarkably similar to porn stars, so Land would have an easy excuse to trace her.

This is rather obviously X-Force, not X-Men. I hope the plot is about Magneto hunting and very slowly killing the Inhumans in order to get revenge for the whole "the Terrigen Mists kill mutants now" thing. I would love if, two years from now, "Uncanny Inhumans" gets cancelled with a note saying "Sorry, Magneto killed all Inhumans, there is no one left to tell stories about".

That's it for me also. I can't see myself supporting this roster for long. It's not the Uncanny X-men, even if Marvel thinks it's cool, fans follow like lemmings, and I stand alone.

The entire cast is 616. That's fact. Inter ices with Bunn have him talk about Sabre tooth being inverted and that he is still writing magneto. Also of what mystique been doing.
