Bishop and Jesse Bedlam. They're like ant everything the other is about.

Gambit and Longshot, mentioned above by darkgreed, would also be an interesting team up. Longshot's naïve innocence, matched with Gambit's bad-buy worldliness, could be a fun mix, since they are so similar (with their acrobatic fighting styles) in one respect, and so utterly different in personality. Either of the two and Nightcrawler, or even Nightcrawler and Shatterstar, could be a similar match-up, all super-agile and fluid and swashbuckling swordsmanship, and yet very different and distinct characterizations.

Sage and Forge might also be a neat pairing (or even a romantic couple!), or Bishop and Cable, or various others who seem quite similar, thematically, but are quite different under the hood, such as the 'force field ladies' (Unuscione, Cecelia Reyes, Skids, Armor/Hisako).

Totally crossing streams and having Scott and Lorna on a team, or Alex and Emma on a team, could be funky, just to have the 'couples' outside of their comfort zones. Scott and Lorna on a team together (with no romantic hints needed whatsoever!), in particular, seems like a recipe for drama, since Alex seems to have trouble letting Lorna go (or trusting her to stand on her own), as well as an entire spinner rack of issues regarding his brother...

Storm and Colossus strike me as having some interesting similarities, both coming to the X-Men with a sort of innocence and purity of spirit that has been tested and challenged, shaping them into something quite different. While I'm not sure I see them as a couple, they'd make an interesting pair for an extended crimefighting duo/team-up. Ororo would very much 'wear the pants' in that family, but Piotr also has a core of iron under all the gentle artist trappings, and can un-ironically say something like, "I am made of rage!" while snapping a fool's neck.
Actually outside of PAD's book Alex did let her go and did trust her to stand on her own and has in the past more than once, it was just more of PAD making Alex look bad...Bishop and Cable did team up for a bit back during X-Cutioner's Song if memory serves...them along with Wolverine.

    Gambit and Cyclops.

One's the smooth talking ladies man/gentleman thief. The other is the oblivious but stalwart soldier/leader. Together weird crap happens to them as they rescue Mutants and try to survive a world that hates and fears them.

Bonus points for every time Cyke's clothing is torn or when Gambit speaks Mon Dieu.
    Le Suck it, Dolphin!

    -God I am so tired.

SCOTT SUMMERS AND EMMA FROST DESERVED BETTER.

Would love to see the two of the following going on solo missions:

Psylocke and Northstar- the posh of it all
Magyk and Chamber- the punk of it all
Emma and Mystique- the backstabing of it all
Daken and Northstar- the sexual tension of it all
Dr. Nemesis and Sage- the brains of it all
Storm and Medusa- the royalness of it all
Nightcrawler and Wolfsbane- the faith of it all

    Jean+Logan:

Both fighting their inner animals constantly.

They spark the urge to just be themselves in each other.

They have that whole "hiding the savage behind nobility" thing going.

They are in essence the same.

Some of the characters you guys brought could still happen. Only thing I see never happening is Jeen meeting Jean.

    Ooh, that's a cool one.

Moonstar & Monet = They probably wouldn't like each other, but it would be entertaining.
Karma & Rachel = The only psychic I've yet to see Rachel bond with. Plus the Kitty connection.
Rogue & Emma = They had a brief appearence of friendship in The End, it would be nice to see that fully explored.
Rogue & Nightcrawler = The earlier poster is right, the sibling angle has only really been shown in Forever (and that is best left forgotten).

Psylocke and Emma: For the sheer aristocratic bitchiness of it all. Particularly fun for the way Psylocke gets under Emma's skin by effortlessly embodying the kind of upper-class attitudes Emma worked hard to achieve. Forcing these two to team up should produce a lot of fireworks.

Rachel and Bishop: They were friends and teammates in Storm's XSE, but it didn't last long. Sending the pair of displaced X-Men on some time-hopping hijinks sounds like fun.

Gambit and Eyeboy: The Cajun can take on the task of trying to teach one of Wolverine's hapless students how to be a master thief and ladies' man. What could go wrong?

They play it up in X-Men: Evolution as well, but it can very much be a YMMV series.

That X-23 didn't end up back at the JGS with Wolverine. After all, when last seen in Avengers Arena, Logan himself personally had her loaded on the medevac chopper.

We STILL don't know how she ended up being captured and tortured by Purifiers in Miami instead, with Logan not even stopping to ask, "Hey, where'd Laura go NOW?" You'd think after the last time he brushed off her disappearing, he'd have been a bit more diligent. So not only a missed opportunity but a plot hole big enough to march Galactus through.

    BEEEEEEENDIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS!!!
