Default Which modern DC writers do you think can write convincingly Golden/Silver/Bronze Age material?

Among DC Comics writers who made their professional debuts during the 1990s or 2000s, which do you think are most capable of writing a convincing modern-day simulatation Golden, Silver, or Bronze Age style comic using the conventions of those times? The key to success is that they must write a story using the DC characters that feels like it could be an authentic lost story from those eras.

    Ironically
I think Dan Didio is a good Silver/Bronze writer

Darwyne Cooke nailed the transition from gold to silver age beginnings.

He perfectly captured the darker (paranoid/xenophobic but not cynical) pulpy roots -> transitioning into a more optimistic colorful frontier of the Silver Age.

Pretty sure Giffen did the heavy lifting of OMAC.

Mark Waid could write a solid Silver Age story.

    Default Messed up there...

Edit: Sorry, I think Busiek and Kelly are too old for this post.

Whoever wrote those GL stories in Bizarro World (or was it Bizarro Comics?)

Jeff Parker's Batman 66 has a few issues that really do feel like they could belong in the 60s. Not all of them... some feel a bit modern, but some have seemed very authentic to me.

Eh, kinda. I mean Busiek really made his name in the '90s, but I guess this is leaning towards more "modern" writers.

Jeff Parker is ideal. Brian Azzarello can actually do it very well, too. Also Casey and Cooke.

    Jeff Parker, definitely.

Also depends on what you mean by Golden Age and Silver Age. For example, I don't think anyone could rival CC Beck's Captain Marvel, but I think that Jeff Lemire could give it a good shot. No one could really do Jack Cole's Plastic Man, but I'd be intrigued with what Simon Oliver, Robbi Rodriguez, and Rico Renzi (FBP) could do.

Obviously, Neil Gaiman's out there. Neil Gaiman Spectre anyone?

Oh, it was a undoubtedly a great book, but it doesn't compare to the glory of Cole's Plastic Man, which I find to be the absolute finest superhero comic of the Golden Age.
