If you're talking about him making fun of Superman's "frat-boy punch-out" solution, that is kind of dumb. Like, "The Death of Superman" is kind of a dumb story. Landis has talked elsewhere about enjoying Superman quite a bit, so I wouldn't apply any of his critiques there outside of the storyline in question.

He's right. But he was especially right in using that line to set up an event like "Death," which is more what he was going for.
