Create an Ersatz team

Ok. Sorry. I love stuff like this. Create a 'stand in' team with existing Marvel character for a none Marvel team.

Like, Grant Morrison's 'Seven Soldiers' started as a 'stand in' team for the Avengers, and on the old JL cartoon they did version of the Defenders with Dr Fate, Solomon Grundy, and Aquaman.

For instance, i've been trying to do a "Marvel JLI" for a few months now (Crusader as Guy Gardner, Snowbird as Ice, Radiance as Fire, Steel Spider as Blue Beetle, etc).

Not a lot of people remember them, but during the 52 series a new Justice League line-up debuted, lasted for one issue, then promptly disbanded. I personally loved this line-up and wanted to see more about them. With that in mind, here's my Marvel take on them:

1. Firestorm - Human Torch (both younger, cockier heroes with fire-centric appearances)

2. Firehawk - Firebird (both fire-based characters with bird motifs)

3. Bulleteer - Mercury (both metal-based younger women)

4. Super-Chief - Warpath (both super-strong, super-fast men of Native American descent)

5. Ambush Bug - Deadpool (really not a big Deadpool fan, but as far as comical characters who break the fourth wall and have awareness they're in a comic goes, he fits the bill)
