    The plate was probably torn off in their first round. The handle is probably bone taken from those flying Kaiju Kong was shown fighting in the trailer.

    Neca's and Bandai's are that much sometimes even more. Sometimes less. They are for collecting. Or rich kids.

    Working theory currently is that Kong and Big G's ancestors used to fight back in the day and the ax was made in one of their fights and Kong inherits it

    I've seen a few videos where people use these toys for that - it's actually pretty awesome.

    Perhaps, if Kong has the opportunity to go back to Skull Island or something since it doesn't look like he has it when he is being taken on the boat.

    Personally I think it would also show more of Kong's ingenuity to have put together the weapon in response to Godzilla's breath as opposed to just inheriting an answer that an ancestor made.
