There's nothing wrong with the premise. They do seem to take from the original especially in terms of the older sister having to fake her way into a corporate job, but it's all about the execution.

It's not so much that ...

It's more of remaking what you have FULL rights to instead of trying to pay for a new idea. Which probably would have been better than this.

And there is a Colley High remake out there as well know as Kingston High.

And it pretty much COPIES almost all the first movie.

NO little sisters, no Big Shirley, gambling, no visit to the zoo and Preacher has both parents married.

Only difference is Lawrence Hilton Jacobs's character is Hispanic and the ones who dies wanted to be a boxer.
