If Vandal dies then Legends will be toast. He is the perfect villain for a group of heroes that travel thru time. Vandal needs his own arc like Fisk has his in Daredevil.

Per Degaton is'nt bad either IMO but Vandal does needs his own arc, i agree.

has Vandal appeared in the New 52 and if so, has he changed much?

In the New 52 i think he appeared in the JL:Trinity War story arc and to be perfectly honest i personally found him forgettable in it. The only character that still stands out in my mind is Pandora.

He was one of the main characters in the Demon Knights series along with Etrigen, Madame Xanadu, and the Shinning Knight. The book takes place int he middle ages but it is part of the Nu52 DC universe.

I'm still happy Caity Lotz is back in the Arrow/Flash universe. She's a bad ass. I'm on board regardless of who else is cast.
