I don't think it's accurate to say that Fantastic Four was cancelled because of the film. Take Deadpool, for example. He has a major, highly-anticipated film arriving from Fox, and yet not only does he have his own ANAD title, he has a duo book with Spider-Man, and is a member of Uncanny Avengers. There is no reason to assume Fantastic Four was cancelled for any reason other than its sales were less than what Marvel wants them to be. As others have stated, taking something away like this will cause a big boost in the book's sales when it eventually returns. It is a formula they have repeatedly used and been successful with.
