Either way, with the movie tanking as badly as it seems to be? I wouldn't doubt that Fox will abandon their claim eventually.

We can hope. If they abandon it quickly, I'm sure Marvel can squeeze Reed into civil war.

Except for the fact that Marvel not only didn't cancel, but renewed, relaunched and heavily promoted books that sold a lot less.

The amount of people that say "amen" to anything some corporate middle management says without questioning or look at evidence is staggering.

Civil War is already filming. That ship has long sailed.

Surely you can recognize the difference between modest sales with a new property that they're trying to get on its feet versus a team series that has been around for 52 years...

Not all these titles are new properties they are trying to get on their feet- using as basis March 2015, since April had #645, the last issue, titles selling less than F4 included Daredevil and Hulk, as well as Moon Knight, Captain Marvel and Black Widow, which hardly count as new properties.

And the fact that FF is around for more than 50 years and has sold better before is proof that it has the potential to sell much more- not that long ago, when Hickman and Fraction were writing, there was demand enough for two Fantastic Four books- which would indicate a need to change of writer, or a relaunch, not cancellation.

Again, people, stop believing everything some corporate middle-management tells you.

I doubt Fox had anything to do with it. Bad blood or not, Fox doesn't get anything (to our knowledge) from the comics which reach a niche audience. Cancelling the comic would have been based on what Marvel viewed was best for the property. It's very possible that they had not heard good pitches on what to do with the Fantastic Four and other writers had ideas that involved the characters elsewhere, so Marvel took the opportunity of Secret Wars to end it for the time being.

And again, FF was selling more than Daredevil and Hulk and Captain Marvel, just to name a few.

The evidence is pretty worrying but hopefully it's all just speculation and a ANAD Fantastic Four book is announced.

The issue is the real money, not the piddling change from comics. For example, all of Marvel comics grossed about $14M in revenues in the month of June while Avengers: Age of Ultron grossed more than $191M on its opening weekend alone.

Fox may not detract from anything Marvel makes on FF comics, but all the stuff that's actually worth goodles of filthy lucre, Marvel has to stand outside the window and watch Fox feast. As pointed out by Omega Alpha, for a guy like Perlmutter, that sits on his Adam's Apple and presses. So, I can absolutely believe cancelling FF was retaliatory.

I also believe they would revive the book on a moment's notice, if the circumstance change. If the FF property reverts, or they do a Spider-Man-like media deal, word of a new FF creative team will hit CBR almost immediately.

The failure of the 90's tv show The Flash didn't affect the the comic book sales that much. The sales actually despite of it being cancelled.

I think Marvel is letting FF to rest for a while. sales weren't so good, brand needed a rest.

a comics affects very little Fox, it is more conspiracy than anything else.

Maybe, and this is just a HUGE maybe, Reed, Sue and Doom all perish after Secret War?
Meaning Johnny and the Thing Didn't want to continue without them and wanted to go do their own thing.
Maybe people want to read more into things than is there because it makes it a lot more juicier.

And lets not forget Teen Titans as hated as it is , it is still around. No matter how many times they try.

If Marvel is in season mode-a 6 part FF series wouldn't be a bad idea.

You don't hide a property because you want to sit and wait for the right person. You will be waiting a long time.

And the last thing you would ever want to do is for those remaining FF fans to do what Wally West fans are now doing-becoming fans of Ms Marvel and other franchises.

Then when they come back no one will care because they have moved on.

Heck if they wanted to give Reed and them a rest-at least keep the name active with a new take-go get former members. Where are the Power Pack kids at?
