Does that include you, Scotty? You were a Trumper before the election.

Nope, didn't vote for him and never was going to before the election either. The GOP backed me into a corner and forced me to vote for Hillary, unfortunately.

That's my experience too. No matter what Trump does, they just insist it's totally justified and, in fact, get irritated when he backs down even a little from his insanity. It's totally polarized. If Watergate happened today, Republican voters would insist Nixon did nothing wrong and quickly figure out how the break-in had to somehow be the Democrat's fault or at least that anything the President does is okay.

I was a child at the time, but I remember adults refusing to believe or ignoring the avalanche of facts that were tumbling out of the Watergate story, even years after the fact. Same thing happening with Trumps base now.

Has anyone read Trump: The Art of the Deal? His ghostwriter Tony Schwartz said Trump never wrote the whole book. Also, the book's publisher, Howard Kaminsky, said that Trump had played no role in the actual writing of the book.

Trump also claims that he was the leading economics student when he attended UPenn's Wharton School of Business.
I can hardly believe that a graduate of the Wharton School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Economics cannot spell properly on his twitter account, let alone write a book. Are all people who earned B.S. degree in Economics actually idiots at spelling proper English?
Did Trump actually earn his degree? Or did his father pay for it?

Most politicians and celebrities including JFK hired ghostwriters to ghostwrite their books such as Pulitzer-prize-winning Profiles in Courage. Of course I don't think it deserved a pulitzer, because JFK's daddy bribed the Pulitzer board committee to vote for his book.

Naomi Campbell never read her own ghostwritten autobiography.

Re: Trump's college days. He claimed to have graduated at the top of his class but there is no proof of that. Penn State archives of the Commencement program of the year of his graduation just lists Trump as of the the graduates with a Bachelor's in Economics. He's on page 21. The Honors programs, etc. is on page 50. On page 60, the list of awards from the Edith Wharton School of Finance and Commerce doesn't list Trump. He's not on the Wharton School cum laude grads on pg 66 either

Okay but I'm talking about numbers. There are people to this day so fanatically partisan that they think Nixon did nothing wrong or don't care because it's their party. But a huge portion of Republicans did turn against him, far more so than with Trump, at least so far.

In fairness (and I'm not implying that it's equal), there are plenty of people who try to justify Slick Willy's every improper behavior.

Bill Clinton was a Rhodes scholar. Hillary Clinton received a Juris Doctor degree from Yale in 1973. Yet the voters chose Trump over Hillary. They didn't care who was smarter. They preferred the lesser of the two evils.
So you're saying Trump won the popular vote....because he didn't. But a lot of voters were taken in by a false image created mostly due to his reality TV show where the contestants had challenges like selling the most cupcakes. Even as POTUS, everything is transactional to Trump.

No the voters clearly picked Clinton. Our arcane election process with a BIG help from the Russians, voter suppression and James Comey picked Trump. At some point History will note his Presidency was illegitimate. He is the L.A Rams of Presidents.

The people who exonerate Nixon are willfully ignorant of the facts. The GOP leadership at the time joined with Democratic leaders to approach Nixon and request he step down or face impeachment. Those were the days when Conservatives as a whole actually possessed a willingness to compromise for the good of the country. Just before Gingrich and Delay hijacked the Republican Party and together with the Evangelical Right warped it into the extremely partisan, win-at-all-costs bunch of fanatical assholes they are today.

Anyone who still thinks of Trump as the lesser of two evils is blindly partisan to the point of lunacy.

    <recalls popular vote numbers>

So you are saying the fact that Clinton was considerably smarter was secondary to her being vastly less of an evil than Trump?

You're fucking kidding me with this 'lesser of two evils' shit. If you honestly think that, you're either too stupid to be allowed to vote, or you need psychiatric help.

Tell me about it. I mean the nonsense folks spew over electing Trump is beyond silly. Considering the fact Hillary Clinton had 1) Experience in government 2) Had someone who was there before as her husband to likely help with advice . Essentially as one guy said ...were electing 2 President's for the price of 1 with Bill there as well. 3) Would not be a fucking disaster as we have seen.

Yeah you really elected the lesser of 2 evils.

Its like Trump and his supporters can't handle the fact he lost the popular vote . Like somehow all of America didn't all race to the polls for him.
