It's not DC that is selling LESS, they're doing good, thank you! It's Marvel that is selling MORE. But they're selling more using a formula that is not healthy for the comics market in the long run. And, due to "cheerleading", some people just refuse to understand that.
Speculators meaning sw fans? To make this out as some 90's throwback is disengeniuos.or maybe there are more people willing to pluck down money on it than the majority of dc books?

Many of marvels previous events did not do as well as you would think. Which begs the question are there more people buying substandard event books than dc books?

Dc does varients as well, not an excuse.

Mavel does not renumber books every month your just talking nonsense probably out of frustration dc is tanking so hard.

Seems you are taking this way too personal, thank you.

And lets assume all if these are true then are you saying popukar franchises and subpar events coupled with gimmics are beating dc?

Its not really Secret Wars or any of the Mini events thats helping out Marvel right now. Honestly I think the comic product they have right now isnt very long term comic fan friendly , and after the summer , their Summer reign might start to roll back.

Its the Marvel/ Disney factor , and the fact thats that everyones LCS is stocking their stores with comic books that have titles that are in the theaters, thats why its getting better numbers. Doesn't mean Marvel is killing it in terms of best stories and best reader experience.

Its the movies and even though FF bombed , theres still been a Marvel movie in the theaters all summer long. And as far as Archie goes thats the classic case of the issue # 1 bump.

I really don't understand why someone asks a question if he thinks he already has all the answers. Well, another name to the blocking list...

    I would agree...
    However...

The Star Wars train has just started and they still have three movies to go through. So interest will not be waning anytime soon. I don't think it'll stay at the top the entire time, but every #1 will most definitely be in the top ten and the regular series will be very competitive with Batman's numbers for the duration.

Secret Wars- depends on if they pull a DC and make it an event that after it's over, it's barely worth the paper it's printed on. If they actually build on it, however, it could help them maintain dominance with their main universe.

Archie was more than just a typical first issue bump. It was a company finally hitting it big by employing star talent on a major relaunch. I expect Archie to stay in the top 100 at least until the Mark Waid/Fiona Staples run finishes. And even then, I think it'll level at a much higher spot than any issue before it, seeing that the title is now on people's radar for the first time in decades.

    ahem:

Two high profile stories ran on Bleeding Cool yesterday, that laid out certain woes at DC Comics. On one side, a large reduction in revenue against expenditure, to the tune of over $2 million. And on the other, that editorial and creators have been told to pull back on what has been described as “Batgirling”, increased experimentation in the look and feel of DC Comics titles labelled DC You, in the wake of success with Batgirl and Harley Quinn.
