Baltimore: The Witch of Harju

I'm going to be jumping into this series very soon, I was wondering whether the comics feel like a separate tale or if I should read the book first. I already understand that the comics are set place within a time gap in the book, unless I'm misremembering.

This week I reached this story in my Baltimore reread. For some reason I remembered it as not being one of my favorite Baltimore stories, but I liked it a lot more this time. Not as much as The Wolf and the Apostle or The Infernal Train, but very good nonetheless. I think it read better all in a row instead of month-to-month.
