Default HI, long time lurker here, iso comics with decent stories and sexy heroines.

Ok, so the title says it all. I've been reading the forums here for quite some time but never needed any help finding things as I am pretty resourceful. Anywho, I am trying to find comics that have good stories but also super sexy chicks lol.

They don't have to be adult comics either, but they can be. I just figure if I am going to be reading comics, it's also nice to look at some great art with some voluptuously drawn female characters.

For example, there are normal Avengers runs, X-Men runs, etc that meet the criteria. It can also be like 'Avengers v3 1-20' or whatever...it doesn't have to be titled 'sexy sluts yada yada'

I think I have already read most of them though such as (DEEP BREATH) Gen 13, DV8, Tomb Raider, Hack-Slash, Jungle Girl, Nancy in Hell, Monster War, Grimm Fairy Tales, Witchblade, Avengelyne, Danger Girl, Critter, Penny for Your Soul, Various Aspen Comics, Joan of Arc, Wildsiderz, Hyperactives, Carbon Grey, Bang! Tango, Malibu Comics, Megalex, Sirens, Infinite Loop, Mercy Sparx, etc, etc, etc, I could obviously keep going.

Right now I'm reading Tarot Witch of the Black Rose. It doesn't have to be as sexy as this, but just like the above comics I listed pretty much.

Also I've found there are tons of Adult Comics in black and white, but I don't really like black and white too much unless it's drawn clearly like the Walking Dead for example.

I'm posting this because every few weeks it seems I end up finding a new series. Like, I just found Tarot Witch of the Black Rose and it's going on 90 issues, and up until a week ago I hadn't even heard of it.

In addition, I am very sorry if this perpetuates the stereotype of bimbos in comics. I can understand how females feel when it comes to this issue. I just like to listen to an audiobook, and read a comic with provocative ladies, sue me lol. Again, it doesn't have to be an adult comic. It just has to be an artist that happens to like to draw females with nice cleavage and beautiful curves, hahaha.

So that's it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's also not lost on me, that some people hate when a person registers to a site just to ask a question and then disappears to not contribute anything after that. Like I said, though I have been lurking for quite some time, and I look forward to posting more and becoming a part of the community, ty.

EDIT 1: I guess I posted this under 'Independent' cause most of these particular comics fall under the Independent category, if this should be posted somewhere else, please let me know.

The more extreme cheescake stuff died off at the end of the 90s for the most part. These days it tends to be confined to covers rather than interiors. Im not personally a big fan for TnA stuff, but...

Earlier Savage Dragon. Say the first 100 issues or so. Larsen tended to be very provocative with his rendition of females. Less so over time, but even now the odd panty shot will slip in.

Vampirella and Red Sonja from Dynamite. Both are much less cheescak-y these days too. But i suppose still have half naked women jumping about.

Powergirl by Palmiotti and Amanda Conner.

    Bomb Queen

Sunstone by Sejic <<< great characterisation and art and very sexy, i recommend this one!

As for older stuff theres no real shortage of cheescake art in the 90s.
Pretty much anything from Image in that era. Balents run on Catwoman, Chaos Comics entire output; Lady Death, Chastity etc
Hell any given XMen book from that era tended to be full of bodypainted supermodels bending over.

Though i would note thats its quite rare to have cheescake art and good story go hand in hand. Not impossible to find. But its rare.

    ...

And probably not really what your're looking for but Terry Moore draws the sexiest women imo, and Strangers in Paradise is the best thing ever. So im never gonna not recommend that.

Anything from Zenescope has very powerful female heroes who you wont complain about having to look at. I love the Grimm Fairy Tales series and any associated Mini Series. They have really good writers over there too so the stories are amazing. I strongly recommend Robyn Hood, Wonderland, and the main Grimm Fairy Tales book.
    Pull List:
DC: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Action Comics, Detective Comics, Green Lanterns, The Flash, Aquaman, Titans, Justice League, HJATGL, Supergirl, Superwoman, DC Bombshells
Marvel: CANCELLED (good luck with your seasonal approach and constant reboots... I'll miss the characters though)
    Zenescope: Grimm Fairy Tales

Try Empowered by Adam Warren. It's really got excellent plot, and the women look good! Also, try Femforce from AC although its not as good as it once was.

awesome thanks everyone. Some of these I know of and have already read, but there is a handful of stuff I haven't, so again ty.

Lol ya, I've found a ton of image stuff is basically like that for the 90's. The thing is, I like to try and find a series that is at least 20 issues long or so.

Also good call on the X-Men 90's stuff, I'll def look into that.

Vampirella and Red Sonja aren't really sexy enough for me for some reason...some issues are though, but most aren't.

I might start reading a little Lady Death, but from the issues I have looked at, she isn't drawn in a way I like...she just seems so basic for some reason.

But ya, what mainly got me to post this was finding out about "Tarot Witch of the Black Rose". I mean, 90 some odd issues with boobies everywhere that I had never heard of lol.

Also don't get me wrong, I like other comics as well. I read all the popular stuff but the fact that I didn't know about Tarot, makes me think I might be missing some other random publisher that has a kick ass comic, that I've had no clue about.

    Thanks again for the input

The list of what you've read pretty much covers it. I don't think there's anything else.

I looked at empowered, and no doubt I'll get to it I think, but I was just hoping there was more color stuff as opposed to black and white.

I just found Tarot Witch of the Black Rose a week or so ago and was like....."man, if I missed this what else could I have missed".

And like...some of the 90's stuff is good. But some of it is pretty bad. For example a lot of the Malibu Comics stuff has bad art...the boobs are drawn as just 2 big circles..like no form at all. Gen 13 type stuff would be the ideal lol.

I guess it's back to the drawing board for the most part and trying to find 3-5 issue mini series that fit my current tastes.

Thanks again guys. I just wish someone with a lot of time on their hands maybe kept track of this stuff lol.

Cause it can be any series really...like I said, X-Men, Avengers, Black Panther, Superman, etc, it's just a pain in the ass finding which runs fit this criteria.

It's just nice to get my super-hero fix and looking at some sexy ladies at the same time heh.

To be fair, this kind of art is common enough in the industry, that no matter what series I read, I will end up running into it more often than not.

Not so much these days anymore, unfortunately. Recent backlashes have made cheesecake art more difficult to come by, and publishers who used to thrive on it (such as Zenescope, Top Cow, and Avatar) don't bother with it or actively avoid it now.

And titles such as Empowered are there to make fun of us, rather than cater to our tastes.

And I can see where you're coming from with Tarot. Haters can say what they like, but that series is pretty unique. There is nothing else out there remotely like it. So looking for similar titles is doomed to fail.

Zenescope still does a pretty fair amount. Especially on their covers. Their interiors have dialed back a little but I mean its still pretty strong.

The search continues lol. Maybe I'll be the first person to make a list of 'non-adult' comics with TnA.

Some would say, why not just read adult comics then?

Like I said though, I like a good story to go along with the TnA....if not, it's basically just looking at nude drawings.

Also with the adult comics, it's hardly ever tastefully done...they just shove the TnA in your face, instead of teasing you with it.

Thanks again for the help, and not crucifying me for my taste in comics you guys/gals. I look forward to posting more and getting involved. I only started reading comics a few years ago. I'm a huge sci-fi and fantasy nerd, so one day I thought to myself, why don't I read comics....and the rest was history

    Trying new things FTW

Honestly, id say your better off with straight up adult comics.

Stuff like Sunstone, Manaras catalogue, the aforementioned Black Kiss, Drunna, Alan Moores Lost Girls, Brandon Grahams porn stuff, webcomics like Oglaf or Chester 5000 have better stories and overall creative passion in them the likes of Tarot or throwaway 90s Image.

And id argue that erotic comics like that, despite the hardcore sex scenes are often much more tasteful than the shoehorning of cleavage shots, broken back poses and skimpy costume designs into superhero comics which imo just comes off as ridiculous at best and sexist at worst.
But i guess thats a different discussion.
