Where did this idea come from? Is it in the Wildways? Did it exist before Spiral, or is it her creation? Is it something separated from Mojo? How does it work? Why does Spiral wear a special tunic when she's in charge? How many 'customers' have been throughout history?

Is it there where Rita turned into Spiral?

I always feel like the fact that Ricochet Rita was designed to look like Ann Nocenti makes the whole thing possibly even sadder. What a tragic figure.

'Tragic' is the word, indeed. For Spiral (setting aside the fact that years later they came up with that stuff about she being RR), a former rebel turned into a hound dog for her former enemy (much as Rachel).

Hey you're right! It never occurred to me how they have so much in common!

And for Rita, as a stranger who gets mixed up in all this insanity, kidnapped and tortured and virtually wiped off existence --although once she was recovered, she chose to venture into the lion's den. Because 'That's what makes it fun'. And because she was in love.

Awful that that love twisted into hate.

Certainly, I don't know how Annie felt while she was watching her own face going through all of those dreadful experiences :P .

Wish someone interviewed her about it I'm curious to know!

I'm not a fan of action figures, but this is really gorgeous indeed. So much work!

Needless to say that yes, Spiral is obviously based in Hindu mythology. It's a pity, though, that the first sculpture in the vid does not portray Kali, but Shiva Nataraja ('The Lord of Dance'). Also he's not standing up on his consort (like Kali does --being precisely Shiva, BTW), but on the demon of oblivion and ignorance...which seems very appropiate dealing with Longshot, on the other hand, so the result is equally great.
