Come on now. You know he will.

I agree that it's unnecessary due to the great ending it had. Also agree about RIP for Uncle Phil.

Yeah, Uncle Phil will be a big loss.

Or if one must disagree, consider this: the show was not funny because of Will Smith and (if you want to count him) Alfonso Ribeiro, it was funny because of James Avery. You cannot replace or substitute James Avery.
I actually quite liked Alfonso at times. He was funnier than Will IMO. But I agree that James not being there will be a huge hole that'll never be filled. They'll HAVE to do a tribute to him in some way if this gets the go-ahead.

How often has Will Smith 'cast his son' in a movie of his? After Earth and once as little boy. Not sure why this fake 'you know he will' narrative keeps coming up.

Ehhhhh. It could be interesting. I hope the show is funny. The sitcom elements helped the drama land.

The passing of James Avery is a big hole to fill. Both as the straight man and father figure. Will and Alfonso had great chemistry as basically being opposites but still finding that middle ground. So if Alfonso plays a main role in the series, and plays off of Will, there could be some good stuff.

Yeah, just saw that myself. I mean, drama isn't exactly a bad thing, even for sitcoms, but people remember the series as a comedy with some drama. Not a drama series.
